Re: The Dome - Unison

"Hmmm...." thought Gorin. The echo's return to the Dome was still a secret from most. The Oblivion Master didn't want many people to know anyways.

A libarian looked over to Gorin. He had made an odd request upon entering the library. He wanted to read a book on several theories of what lied beyond the grave. He would chuckle now and then before turning the pages.

The source for the echo's amusement was the tortures depicted in graphic detail. None of them could compare to what Gorin had suffered in Echo Side, but they were amusing nontheless.

"Toenails torn off and lodged into the victim's pupils?" thought Gorin. He was having so much fun that he didn't mind the nosy librarian. She continually looked over his shoulder to see what he was reading, sometimes making a disgusted noise.

She eventually decided that whatever Gorin was looking up was none of her business, and went back to sorting books. Once she was out of sight the Oblivion Master pulle out what he had intended to read.

It was one of Grasthos' notes. He established a portal to the late Grasthos' lab in his room so that he could continue unravelling the secrets of his deceased foe's last activities. This particular notebook was the most interesting one yet.

Notebook number sixty six, entry seventeen...
I have found a new form of energy. It is created by tainting an element. The result is an entirely new element, which mutates the body and soul. I have found that inducing small amounts usually causes death in my test subjects, while large amounts cause mutations.

The mutations are incredibly powerful, but have shown no signs of obediance. I terminated all but three of them. The three survivors will be placed in the safe with my notes. None of them need food nor drink, or even air for that matter.

Gorin was almost done reading this when he smelled something odd. It seemed that a creature had escaped one of the many training rooms, and was heading for the library.

Its scent was followed by the smell of another warrior, a newcomer to the Dome. The creature was a rhino demon, a species that Gorin frequently hunted back in his days as the God of Wrath.

Within seconds the rhino demon made it to the library. Its red eyes pulsed with anger when it noticed the many bookshelves in its way. Rhino demons hated having to plow their way through things to get anywhere, and this one was no exception.

By now the warrior had made it to the library, and commenced battle with the rhino demon. Gorin decided not to interfere.

"I shouldn't mess with somebody else's assignment, although I'll help if it gets out of hand." thought the echo.
