Well I am from Massachusetts, the first state to allow gay marriage. I think it has mostly to do with religion as it goes against the Bible.

Whoops sorry, I wasn't answering your question. Why restrain them? Well, because it goes against what a lot of people believe in. I am sure if it was something you didn't agree with you wouldn't want to allow it to happen or to go on. (By the way in no mean am I trying to single you out) I am not agreeing with restraining gay marriages but, you have to look at it from someone else's perspective. Be it a very religious Catholic to an average Joe who was just brought up to hate gays and that is how he is and will ever be. Why restrain them? Because that is what some people believe in. And as most of us know, it is hard to change your outlook on something. The only reason to restrain them is because you want to. Now, that may not be a good enough answer but, it is the only one I have.
