A couple of AMN's editors have even claimed that they were travelling to Japan for today because of the announcement. I'm not sure if they're being truthful or not, but they are basically tying their site's reputation to this possible revelation.
And no, today is not the day of Iwata's keynote. That is Friday (Thursday night in the states). However, that speech could possibly be a confirmation of specs released today or tonight. Keep in mind, stuff often is released or leaked a few days before a big event.
Also, keep in mind that Nintendo is quite fond of
viral marketing. It would make sense for them to release tidbits of info to a select few gaming sites to create extensive buzz.
I should have given this a more interesting sounding subject.
Well, nothing has surfaced yet, but the editors at AMN said that it will be released
at night in the U.S.
I guess we'll see.

For me, that's 8 PM EST. I hope this is true.
