Re: PS3 Games said to be $70-$80!?

Yes, but this is for Japan and you have to remember that Japan actually pretty much pays that amount for games this generation. So, don't be too concerned about a perceived price jump for the next generation:

From http://www.joystiq.com/entry/1234000750056817/ :

you have to pay almost $70 for a PlayStation 2 game over there. So in Japan, Hamamura is expecting an increase of $10. So will we see $60 PlayStation 3 games in the States? Quite possibly, but that was already expected. It is still outrageous, but nothing to cry over too much.

From http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3143306 :

Japanese pricing has always been traditionally higher than in other parts of the world. The typical PlayStation 2 game in Japan already runs you almost $70, which would certainly mean next-generation is a step up, but nothing shockingly so.

An interesting note for the possible effects of rising development costs in Japan? Sure. Reason to panic and speculate US prices will follow suit and leap from $20-30? Nah.
