Link's race

I was surprised to not see anything on this subject
but if there is a thread already, just merge

I just wanted to point out that Link in TP is pretty obviously Hylian.
(in case you didn't notice, the pointy ears)

However, all of the other Taurans in Tauru Village have rounded ears.

I'm kinda dry on the creative side right now, but i think this has a MASSIVE significance to the game's plot

How 'bout y'all?

Re: Link's race

yeah, we already discussed that. he is Hylian while everybody else is Toaruan (?)....

its similar to OoT, where he was raised among the kokiris when he was hylian.

Re: Link's race

Which brings it to the fact that he's probably the same Link as OOT and MM.

Re: Link's race

Possibly, but Nintendo already confirmed that this isn't the Link from Ocarina of Time. if the game takes place several decades after OoT, then how could the Hero of Time still look/be seventeen?

If anything, this will have a similar story behind this link's past as with the OoT Link's past, in that it's possible that Link's mother had left him to the care of the people of Toaru village, and then eithe rleft or died. Only in this game, he'll probably know more about his own Hylian roots than the Hero of Time knew about his own. It'd be kinda hard for him not to know, when he's seventeen and is the only person he knows with the pointed ears of the Hylian elves. if he didn't know he was "different", then others would see him as "special".

we don't want anything similar to that movie "Elf" with Will Ferret [spelled wrong for a reason]. yeah, it'd be the exact opposite (an elf who thinks he's human rather than vice versa), but still, it'd be just as stupid (and by the way, i hated that Elf movie)

uhhh......... NO
i don't even understand what you're saying, dude

sorry, didn't know it had been discussed
just thought that it was very interesting

Maybe he IS related to the original Hero of Time and was raised in a far away village to keep him safe from his heritage and his past

Re: Link's race

He's not the same Link from Wind Waker. if he were the same Link, the game would be cel-shaded and thus an altogether entirely different game (since they'd want the contents to match the art style), plus, it'd mean for some seriously huge plotholes if it WAS the Hero of Winds anyway.

this Link, the Hero of What-ever-it-is-he's-the-hero-of-in-Twilight-Princess, has pretty much been confirmed by Nintendo that the game takes place inbetween Ocarina of Time and the Wind Waker, but the main character is neither the Hero of Time nor of Winds.

anyway...

Kaze, you do have a good point in your last post, it may very well be possible that this Link IS related, but was stowed away to protect him from his ancestry. I wouldn't say he's the SON of the Hero of Time, but likely related to him in some special way.

Lets say were doing an adventure with the Hero of winds again. It wouldn't have to be cel shaded, especially if he's getting into his adults years, that would be a bit odd wouldn't it now?

Adding to your last comments, I agree. I like to believe that the Link in all of the Zelda games are somehow related. What are the odds that someone 100 years from now would have the same name, look the same, and take up the sword and fight evil as a hero, just as you did (comparing OoT Link to TWW Link)? The shield that Link's grandma gave him in the beginning of TWW was supposedly the Hylian Shield, and must have been a family heirloom, don't you think?
