Failure to comply with the new rules will render you warnings.
1. No Copy and Paste* greetings. If you want to welcome someone to
ZU, at least make it original for each member. We greet members at
ZU to make them feel at home, not to raise our own post count.
*(Copy and paste greetings is when you use the exact same message in all your greetings. Be creative with more than "Welcome to
ZU
")
2. Don't spam your greetings. I'm sure you all wish to have everyone feel welcome, but please don't post in all threads at once. A newbie will not die because you didn't say "Hi" to him/her.
3. Keep your greetings about two sentences long, thank you. Two to five is preferable, although the mod team would love to see you write more than that. Also, "Have a [random fruit]" does not count as a sentence.
4. While it is a very friendly thing to do, please refrain from chit-chatting in the greeting threads. If you want to have a longer conversation, use PM.
5. Giving of random gifts should be kept to a minimum.
6. If several people before you have told the newbie to read the rules/newbie guide/any other guide/all of the above, it is not necessary for you to repeat it. If there's nothing left to tell the newb in the thread, then consider the newbie welcomed to
ZU.
Update:
7. Do not greet newbies only to advertise your sig shop, it's rude. Advertisments of sig shops should be done in your signature only.
