STAFF NEEDED QUICKLY!

Our site (www.zeldanetwork.com) needs content staff very badly. We are under construction at the moment, and are in desperate need of content writers. I am the co-webmaster here, and I am also the head content writer. If interested in joining my team of content writers, send me a pm or email me at sesshomaru.777(at)gmail.com and I will surely get back to you. I need about 5 people to join this team, and it is imperitive that you get msn messenger or AIM as quickly as possible! Simply Send me a peice of your work, and I will talk it over with the webmaster to see if we want you on the team. Thank you if you can do this! Oh, and by content, I mean Zelda related content, such as heart peices, game-specific things (Bean Beds for OOT, Treasure maps for WW, masks for MM etc) and perhaps walkthroughs if need be.

Current team members:

Keiji Maeda
Brolik
Frost Guardian

Oh and Keiji, I could help but I don't have any Zelda content I could submit for you to look at. I do have some other things. By the way if you don't have a banner you can always PM me, just because I closed my shop doesn't mean I won't do things for friends.

Allright sounds good, here is a little snipit of something I was writing, a comparison of the PSP and DS, here is the first little bit of it. I can post more later, because it isn't complete yet.

By Brolik (Jeff Waldbillig):

The Ultimate Showdown: PSP vs DS

Well in this article I’m going to compare the pros and cons of the PSP and the DS and in turn answer the burning question, which handheld should I buy, the PSP or the DS? So without further ado I give present to you, The Ultimate Showdown.

First we are going to get to know the PSP, Sony’s first ever handheld gaming and entertainment system. For the companies first handheld they did quite well, not only making a handheld that was for gaming but also combining the aspects of an MP3 player and a portable DVD player. Even with that aside the PSP boosts wireless gameplay as does the DS. Both systems can have up to 16 people connected wirelessly and both use a IEEE 802.11 wireless connection. The PSP also has very pleasing dimensions that that make it slightly more sleek than the DS but lack the DS’s dual LCD screens. The PSP is also very light, around 280g or .62 lbs, so this handheld is practically weightless, exactly what you look for in a portable device.

Re: STAFF NEEDED QUICKLY!

Very well done, my friend! I would actually like to see some content (although I might just ask you to personally help me with writing articles, you seem very capable!) but since you don't have any, I'll give you a prompt. Give me a small guide on the Four Transformation masks, where and how to get them (You dont have to say the "how" for the fierce diety's mask) and any other details you think might be nesessary. If you don't feel like doing this, then I can just wait for you to finish that excellent article!

Re: STAFF NEEDED QUICKLY!

Here's this thing.
Deku Mask:
This is the mask Link starts out with. This mask lets you go into flowers and you can launch up to fly a certian destance and you can attack your enamies by spinning and/or blowing bubbles.
Goron Mask:
Follow the Ghostly Goron to the Goron alter by using the Lens of Truth, and play the Song of Healing to him, then he will give you the Goron mask, which changes Link into Darunia. As Goron Link, you will be able to curl into a ball and roll around, and use the strength of the Goron to unleash powerful fire-punches.
Zora Mask:
By pulling the ill Zora in Great Bay onto the shore. Play the Song of Healing to him, and he will leave the Zora mask for Link. Link can swim like a fish, walk on the bottom of the water, create electric barriers to surround himself, and use the Zora fins for long distance attacks, or various fighting combos.
Fierce Diety Mask:
You get this mask by completing all the kids in the moon's challenges. When Link puts it on, he becomes Oni Link. You can only use this mask in boss rooms. By pressing the B Button while wearing this mask to unleash a powerful magic sword attack with the slash attack.

Well actually it has been forever since I played MM so I really wouldn't be the best person to write that article. Maybe try me with something else.

Oh and here is somem more:

.......

Now that we’ve gotten the basics out of the way we can really start to pick apart the differences between the DS and PSP. First off with the screen. Though both boot LCD screens the DS takes it away. The PSP has a 4.3 inch screen, which is capable of displaying 480 x 272 pixels, this is larger than the DS’s 3 inch screen which can only display 256 x 192 pixels. Though the PSP has a larger screen, the DS has dual screens, and even better yet, the second screen on the DS is a touch screen.. This is one of the major aspects of the DS that allows it to be more interactive with the gamer. This touch screen capability sadly is not part of the PSP’s design.

Though the DS may have the PSP beat in the gaming department, the PSP is quite the all in one hand held. With the ability to combine an MP3 player, a DVD player, and a handheld gaming system, the PSP leaves the DS in the dust. Why would you waste money on a DS if you had to buy an MP3 player and a portable DVD player when instead you could just buy the PSP. Well for starters, maybe the price, although the PSP is a great handheld it has a larger price tag, go figure. The PSP is a whopping $330 while the DS is only $250, a difference of about $80. Most of you probably already own an MP3 player so that lessens the PSP’s appeal, as well as the fact who wants to go buy two copies of the same DVD just because you need to buy a special UMD disk for the PSP. That can be quite pricey. So unless you are willing to fork out that much money I would go with the cheaper one, since it has been solely designed for gaming.......

More to come Keiji

Good good. In fact, if the article ends well, which should happen (all's well that end's well, you know!) you'll definatley be joining my team. When and if you do, I will simply give you an assignment and a deadline for it. But yeah, im excited to see more on that article!

Re: STAFF NEEDED QUICKLY!

Well here is some more, I'm almost done with it:

Another thing that people worry about when buy portables is the battery life, yes how long your little portable will have power before it becomes lifeless. Well this is another area where the DS surpasses the PSP. Both handhelds contain a small Lithium-ion battery pack. Though they both have the same battery the DS manages to get the most for it’s money. The PSP’s battery life on average will give you about 5 hours of power until your PSP ceases to function. This time can even be shortened if you play a game with intensive graphics. As for the DS you ask, well how about up to 10 hours, amazing, and on top of it, it only takes around 4 hours to go from no battery life back to a full battery life. This means you can get twice the battery of the PSP with a DS, this can come in handy on long trips with minimal time to recharge the battery. Oh and as for the recharging, just like the Gameboy Advance SP, both use AC Adapters, nothing special since just about every portable on the planet uses AC adapters to recharge.

As we move on we will compare yet another aspect which is important in all media player devices, the sound! Yes the speakers of the DS and the PSP. Well for starters, if you wish not to disturb those around you both handhelds have the ability to plug in headphones, which is quite a necessity for the PSP since it also plays music and UMD’s. Oh and as a side note, for those who enjoy annoying those around you, the DS has the ability to plug in a microphone, which can be used to interact with some DS functions. Yet another way the DS allows the gamer to interact where the PSP doesn’t. Let us move on then to the speakers, the PSP has your typical stereo speakers found in handheld systems like the Gameboy. Well oddly enough, the DS due to it’s design has the ability of a virtual surround sound. Yes it has the same boring old speakers as the PSP, except they are much larger and as I said, give the cool “surround sound” feel to them. Wow just saying “virtual surround sound” makes it enticing, well maybe not but it makes it sound better eh. Well either way the DS can pump out more sound, though that really wasn’t the focus of Sony since the PSP was designed with the gamer using headphones most of the time. Since the speakers lack one would take advantage of the headphones when listening to music or watching a movie on the PSP. Since the DS lacks the ability to play MP3’s and UMD’s it needs to have quality sound for the gamers to enjoy. The design of the DS allows for the speakers to be quite large allowing for quite the output from such a small machine. So yes here is the final analysis of the sound, DS > PSP. So yes the DS pumps out the better sound like I said before.

On one final note before I draw my final conclusion the DS has something that the PSP will never be able to compete with. The gaming library of DS blows away the PSP. Since this is Sony’s first handheld gaming system the PSP can only play new games made just for the PSP. Well Nintendo has been around the handheld gaming business since the beginning. With the ability of backwards capability the DS can play games from the original GameBoy, Gameboy Color, and the Gameboy Advance. As well as the new titles made just for the DS. This ability will make it hard for Sony to attract the Gameboy faithful over to the PSP. Why buy a whole new system which can’t play your old games instead of a cheaper system that can. This is going to be quite a drawback for Sony, trying to compete with Nintendo who has ruled over handheld gaming since the beginning.....

Edit:

Okay here is the final bit:

Well as for my final conclusion let us go over my scoring for the system which has been separated into multiple categories.

Gaming: PSP–3 DS-5 Total of 5
Battery. PSP-2 DS-5 Total of 5
Size: PSP-5 DS-3 Total of 5
Wi-Fi: PSP-4 DS-5 Total of 5
Display PSP-5 DS-4 Total of 5
Interactive: PSP-4 DS-4 Total of 5
Price: PSP-4 DS-2 Total of 5
Multi Function: PSP-5 DS-3 Total of 5
Sound: PSP-3 DS-5 Total of 5
Gaming Library: PSP-0 DS-2 Total of 2
Supplied Accessories: PSP-3 DS-1 Total of 3

Final Score: PSP = 38/50 DS = 39/50

Well as you can see I have compared them with a scoring system and I have given the DS the nod, with a victory margin of only one point the DS takes it home. Let’s review everything again. The DS is cheaper than the PSP by $80, but at the same time for all that the PSP comes with it has a better price for it’s capabilities than the DS does. This DS starts to pull away a little with a much larger gaming library and the ability of twice the battery life of a PSP. Where the PSP catches up is it’s ability to include a gaming system, an MP3 player, and a portable DVD player all in one. This is where the DS fails to compare. Though the DS outclasses the PSP in the area of gaming, it doesn’t have anything else besides the ability to game. Then again it can be more interactive with the gamer than the PSP. With the ability to use a touch screen and a microphone the gamer can interact with the DS in ways the PSP can’t. Though the DS has a dual screen, the PSP boosts slightly better graphics and a larger screen, though that can be set aside since the DS has two screens. Also the PSP is slimmer than the DS, which can be something to keep in mind of you want something that feels weightless and fits almost anywhere. This makes the PSP more portable than the DS, but not by much. The PSP comes with more accessories than the DS but who really needs a remote for a handheld anyway? Well all in all it is very close. If I had to choose I would go with the DS, though with things as they are the final score only separated the two by one point. So it is a hard decision that could go either way. So I give the DS the victory but the decision is still up to you. So now that you’ve seen the results of the Ultimate Showdown, what handheld will you choose?

Well I can't start for a while, until next weekend at least. I have a baseball tournament that starts tomorrow and runs through Friday, I have a double header each day so I will be gone a lot and really tired. So maybe try me next weekend. I would start now but I don't think I could finish it right tonight.
