I just wish I had something more to add, because we should make this as scientifically based as possible. All I can say is that mutations of that magnitude are impossible (speaking from what we observe in these days) without elaborate intermediate stages. I find it hard to believe that this "Adam" fellow suddenly found himself able to think on our level, yet his progenitors were much further back. Take a look at a two-year-old's ability to think and a twelve-year-old's. Both are highly advanced individuals (by animal standards--notwithstanding that some creatures are said to be able to think up to the level of a six-year-old at their prime of life). However, there must stages in between which are almost indistinguishable when set side by side due to the sheer number of them within a short space of time. Psychologists can only hope to group them together in some type of spectrum.
