Silhouette

When the soul inside
fails to heal,
does the shell outside
shrivel in fear
and melt on itself
as the silhouette appears.

Flying from the open shell
the essence is free
but must it be
out in the open
where it can be seen.

As the silhouette's body
dissolves in the ground
a new host must be found.
Until then the silhouette is sentenced
to not feel, see, or taste anything.

He looks at himself and others
look at him. Fear is all they sense
as it passes through them.
Fear is the silhouette in
every thing you see.
