Interesting... I never thought of that. Then again, when Link aged seven years, Darunia's son was still a child. Link only aged a little between OoT and MM but that goron is an adult. So unless the flow of time is vastly different in different dimensions...

I think the Dodongo's Cavern comment was just a careless continuity mistake, but your explanation makes plenty of sense. It's not too far-fetched to assume somewhere in Termina is a cavern with Dodongos in it which the Gorons call "Dodongo's Cavern."
