Well, I've always though they were pretty much interchangeable -- although I do tend to use "noob/n00b" accusingly as opposed to "newb/newbie".

I've also gone on the assumption that "own/pwn" were interchangeable, as the latter simply being a more leet-ish version of the former.

I did not know that about Warcraft. I didn't know about Warcraft, period, until like, a year ago.
