Another placement thread. Uh have we discussed this yet?

There's been many a thread talking about the age old question, before or after WW. Well I have a few theories for and against it being before WW. Here's a little paragraph before I get into the Theories.

In WW after we beat the few dungeons we must search for the Triforce shards, which seperated once the HoT(Though it never says which hero, I think) lost when he went on a personal journey.

Now if this is correct than:

1) Maybe it is after WW, becasue it seems, by the trailer, the Triforce is a part of it.
2)It is before WW, But this is the hero who looses all the aliments that make him a hero
3)Your turn for more suggestions and theories

If you fell this would be better in another placement thread, feel free. Also since this is all specualtion and not fact, I don't think it goes in spoilers.

Well here is what I think,

This is why its after tWW:
1. at the start of tWW, it shows you what happened in OoT, but TP is after OoT... why didn't they show that as well? I mean is Ganon is in the game... It plays an important chapther
2. If it before tWW... and he becomes a Hero he should of been showen at the start of tWW
3. I think it is after TWW, So he can become the Hero and destroy Ganon once again.... or maybe he pulls the Master Sword out of Ganon's head or something..

We need another offical announcement from Nintendo, to clear this up for us..

1. I think it is after WW... first of all... It wouldn't make anysense for it to before because then Link couldn't win... he would have to be defeated which... would suck... It makes more sense that it would be after... and the triforce is part of him... you can see it on his hand...

2. Just to go on the other side, it might be before WW... before OoT... this might be the Great War that they talk about and the "Hero" (Link in OoT's Father) is this link... Which would make a lot of sense because he comes from "A village just out of Hyrule" so he isn't in Hyrule... Unless somewhere in one of the games Link decided to move, he is out of hyrule and then joins the great war when he goes to save his "Friends" and gets tangled in the messof the war...

I think it is before WW

1. Hyrule isn't flooded.
2. Seems that ganondorf is still sealed (maybe)
3. skull kid would be dead by now if its after WW (he returns in TP)
4.V99, the reason why they didn't show what happened in TP was because they haven't even started on it then, why would you work on two zelda games for the gamecube at the same time?
5.the creators said it would be after OoT but before WW.

Any arguments with that?

Arguments:
1. Hyrule gets drained... that's why in all the other games it isn't flooded...
2. This seems okay...
3. Skull Kid is accually a type of person, someone who gets lost in the Lost Woods turns into a Skull Kid... that could be any skull kid...
4. They started this game about a week or two before TWW was released...
5. We are still not sure if that is the correct translation...

Arguments with arguments

1. You actually made a point but at the end, the king of hyrule made zelda find her own land, they never said that anything in zelda was hyrule.

I hope its after WW and the things that happened in WW never existed, I hope. The ending of WW was dumb, drowning Hyrule. Anyways, having it before WW isnt that bad, it would be the first time Link loses. Thats new and would make sence in WW. Skull kid wont really matter, just a supporting character(not in MM though).

I heard Twilight Princess takes place a few decades after Ocarina of Time straight from Nintendo. Hope that helps and adds to the discussion.

And I agree with Zelda Gardian, The Wind Waker kind of screwed up the entire Zelda story.

Ummm not true, because did you see how many Skull Children were in The Lost Woods in OoT?

They are kids who losted there way in the Lost Woods and thats what happens to them (if you remember, because I do) So no its not the same guy, It could be any of them.

and I read somewhere ages ago. That they started Twilight Princess before Wind Waker. Not stopped and made tWW and started again after tWW was finished... dunno if thats true.

well, they say that over att IGN, i think it was, but I really don't think that it's officcial, my bet is that its's just a skullkid, not THE Skull Kid

Nintendo didn't know what kind of a 3D Zelda game they were going to make after TWW. It wouldn't be in the start of TWW because nintendo didn't have any ideas where in the timeline TP will take place so of course it wouldn't be in the begining of TWW.

I have also read that TP takes place a couple of decades after OOT

Hyrule could have been drained. The people think this is a Good Thing, until
they realize that the babysat kid broke out......and is very cranky. Having a sword lodged in your brain for a century tends to have that effect on a person.

Anyway, I want to see what happened after TWW, not a game that basicly retells the openeing intro in TWW.

cool points! dont mind whether the game is set after oot or ww, but i do think as well that ww screwed with the continuity of the series

Well at the beginning of the WW ganon returns and brought darkness over hyrule (the twilight realmis hyrule) and maybe the link in TP failed to save hyrule but i really don't know.

If he was before TWW, he must have either failed (I mean, Hyrule was flooded as a VERY last resort. I don't think the godesses would seal Hyrule under a lifeless ocean unless they had to. The Gorons are pretty much extinct because of this.)

Or he helped evacuate Hyrule, but since nobody really wanted Hyrule sealed in the first place, they don't consider him a hero, so he is doomed to obscurity.

This is my first post in weeks, yay for me. Anyways, there is no way the timeline placement was mistranslated. If any of you have watched interviews and gameplay footage from E3, you probably noticed that Aonuma always brings his own translater. How could a guy whose job is translating mistranslate the same thing over and over again. Also if it was mistranslated, wouldn't the big N come out and let the fans know. Back on topic. If you've read any of my other posts from a while back, you will note what I believe. I'll stick with the assumption (or fact depending on whether you think there was a mistranslation or not) that it is after OOT. I will admit that there would be much confusion over this placement. UNLESS this new game is the real imprisonment, and this is a completely new hero of time.
