When you graduate

I graduate next year, and im still unsure about what I want to do. Im good at science and ICT, and more importantly I enjoy both of them, so Im trying to think of a career that combines the two.

As lots of people here are still in school, I wanted to know what you plan to do when you leave; for a living?

I'm probably gonna do something with sciences, because, I love science, (fine, call me a science nerd if you must) and I'm rather good at it too.

I hate the ignorance of some people who mock say 'science nerd', seeing as without 'science nerds' we wouldnt have 25% of the stuff we have now :p

If I choose to head on the ICT path than I might try and get into the Gaming industry, providing it pays reasonably and the hours arent too bad. From what I see of 'the making of...' dvd's, people in the gaming industry seem to have one hell of a relaxing/fun life, so it should be good

Yes, it is a shame that we call such great minds such insults. I try to refrain from using the word 'nerd' unless the person fits into the description perfectly: thick specs, pocket protectors, socially inept, and obsessed with science or computer sciences/technology.

Anyways, I would love to go into a field that includes video game designing, or graphic designing. I would actually love to create my own anime (I actually have an idea...). I just love the idea of having my creations being enjoyed for all to -uh- enjoy.

im only in 6th grade(my school gets out tomarrow) so i have no clue as to what i want to be

I'm not really sure what ICT stands for, but I'm thinking IT.

I'm thinking of something that merges maths, computers, and physics. Perhaps a Software engineer.

I feel I must add this little tid-bit. Being an engineer myself, computer engineering is not a bad way to go. Lots of money out there as well as jobs on the market. You really have to enjoy math and science though, Math through calc III and Differential Equations, and science lots and lots of physics. Its involved in most of your courses in some way or another. Lots of hard work, but it has its bennifits.

I'd be wary of software engineering there Ciro, not that its a bad way to go entirely. Its a great perfession, however a lot of those jobs are being shipped over sees, and the market isn't that great currently. but that could easily change in the next few years.

I want to be a musician or a book wrighter.

I graduated August 22. So I am currently enjoying my long summer vacation. I start my fall semester of college on August 26.

I want to go to something that has to do with videogames, I know that is a very unlikely plan but I do have stuff to fall back on. If videogames don't work for me I'm probably going to go into something that has to do with electronics or pshycology.

Graphic artist, modelers and animators get paid big time for video game companies. Like I saw the pay for an animator internship at Pixar was 12 dollars an hour to start out with.

I heard from someone that theres a collge somewhere with a major in video game production.

Im going to attend either UBC or Simon Fraser University... In Kinesiology, after that I want to see how far I can go with skiing and golf. Maybe it will take me somewhere I dont know but if that doesnt work out im going to be a coach for one of the developpement teams and a teaching golf pro... Maybe even a physiotherapist... Basically anything that has to do with golf

Well Im gonna try and be a video game maker, I have already come up with one but I dont know if its good.

I'm going to High School next year. THe school's a charter school, and it's set up in "career pathways". There's only about five pathways now [Graphic Design, Childcare, Culinary Arts, Construction, Interior Design.] and I'm probably taking Construction or Culinary Arts. Personally non of those topics intrigue me, I want to be in a band when I grow up, but yeah.

Ive known what I wanted to do since I was 6. Digital animation and art. I think I'll dive into some more math/science based computer classes next year as a freshmen. Im fairly interested in computer science.

I didn't know what to do until the very day I left College, which is why I spent most of my time making magical castles in RPG Maker 2003.

Now, I'm a Typist/Print Finisher/Graphic Designer for a small company. Not too bad, I guess.
