Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
Im thinking that the guerdo and forsaken fortress will be in TP. I think that because in the wind waker the boat (cant think of its name) says that the forsaken fortress used to be a pirates fortress and arent guerdo people like pirates? Im also thinking that the place link is locked up in in the trailer is not the hyrule castle but the forsaken fortress.
What are your ideas on this? |

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
A few people on this site believe that the Forsaken Fortress is a remodelled Gerudo Fortress. I think I agree. Since Hyrule has no mountains, the Goddesses probably elevated places like Gerudo's Fortress, Hyrule Castle Town into mountains. I think the Gerudo became pirates but left the Great Sea. The people of the Great Sea are mainly peasants, so the pickings were barely enough to keep the Gerudo in the high life, or survive very well. They probably left for a wealthier area.

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
In Hyrule the Gerudo were thieves, but pirates are basically thieves that float, so same difference. Meh. Maybe after OoT Link rescued the carpenters so easily they decided they needed a new hideout... with more things to fall off of.

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
I was actually rather disapointed when I saw the Gerudo's fortress for the first time. I was expecting something towering and mighty. It looks like a block of flats.

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
Forsaken Fortress is just like Gerudo hideout now that I think about it.
I mean they both have guards, and you have to sneak around in both of them, and if you get caught you'll be thrown in jail. They are just alike...kin of. Anywhoo which trailor is it in? I can't remember anything that looked like the forsaken fotress, I guess I need to watch the trailors again. He-hee. EDIT: Oh now I remember, and I agree, it looks just like the fortress kind of. I hope so that was such a fun place! ![]()

Mittens!

________________ That very well could be the Forsaken Fortress- even though it doesn't look much like a desert, and I think it's Hyrule Castle, but the floaty things could be a dust/sand storm. Also, I think Forsaken Fortress was probably nicely adorned pre-tWW, with more tapestries/treasure/women, but they all were looted. Except the women, they just sailed off somewhere more fun. Yay for fun!

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
Well, I'm not ruling out these theories, but I think that it's a little too much to assume right now. We don't really have any solid storyline details to prove it. If we're assuming because of looks, you've got to take into account that a lot of castle scenes and dungeons look the same in all games. Though I'm sure that there will be references to it, I don't think that this game is going to be directly related to Wind Waker as Winder Waker was to Ocarina. I think that they want to put that image behind them.

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
That's what I'm saying, it looks like a pretty generic castle from what we can see in the trailer. It could be Hyrule Castle, it could be Forsaken Fortress, or it could be any other castle/fortress structure you can think of.
I also think this game is connected more loosely, mainly because this Link is never mentioned in the WW storyline, but I still hope it connects to the flooding of Hyrule and an explanation of how Ganondorf keeps getting put in such lousy flimsy sealed states. ;P

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
[quote=BLT]It kind of has to not draw too much attention to itself, seeing as they are thieves. If they had a big neon sign flashing "Thieves' Hideout" by the bridge they would probably be in a bit of trouble.
________________ I suppose so, but the Pirate's Fortress was well hidden, and looked like the home of bloodthirsty female priates. The gerudo's fortress just sat there, and looked ugly.

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
*possible spoiler*
Actually it has been confirmed that it's Hyrule Castle, and that link (in wolf form) climbs with Midna (not MINDA for crying out loud, it's not that hard) to the highest tower to find Princess Zelda. Someone already posted that with a link to the interview in the spoiler section. *End possible spoiler*

Re: Forsaken Fortress and Guerdo
Yup, we're just completely raving mad to theorize, too bad.
Even if it IS Hyrule Castle, I still hope we at least get to see the Gerudo Fortress/Forsaken Fortress in this game. Although the Forsaken Fortress looks like it takes more than a few decades to build.
