What do you like in a fanfic?
So...I'm curious to know this, because I haven't encountered many completely Zelda fan fiction communities, other than the one of ff.net, which, well...let's just say there's some real special kids that hang around ff.net and leave it at that.
What all do you people around here like in a good Zelda fan fic? I'm not talking pairings, or anything of that nature. Believe me, I've had it up to here with pairing wars, but I just want to know what other general things everyone around here likes, besides, of course, the obvious. I find that if one knows one's readers, they find themselves improving as a writer. ![]() |

Re: What do you like in a fanfic?
I like the somewhat longer fics, and the ones where people show at least a little bit maturity. Although it's best to try to make teh characters sound like real humans, let them react like most people would and so on. I'm currently reading your fic at ff.net and I like your work. Keep it up!

Re: What do you like in a fanfic?
Hey! I really like stories that have natural settings or ancient monuments that aren't really crucial for it. I really like that, also when characters seem larger than life (without magic, I hate magic, it's such a cop-out, sp?) And zelda fanfics that have recognizable features and landscapes without link or zelda as main characters. But I don't think many ppl like my taste in stories
, but yeah I can't wait to read something of yours. |

Re: What do you like in a fanfic?
I like long fanfics where interesting, unexpected curveballs are thrown into the plot here and there, so what was simple at the beginning is complex at the end, and things that seem of little importance at the beginning turn out to be huge plot elements by the end. That's what I like about the Harry Potter books, and my own fanfic, The Three Torches(prologue and chapters 1-3 on this site now, when you read it please respond with your opinions in the topic for it).
So that's what I like in a fanfic.
