Okay, maybe this is a really dumb question, but...what would happen if..?

I was reading my friend's livejournal and she was talking about how her brother's house was broken into and someone slashed their LCD flatscreen monitor. .. so umm, I got to wondering..

.. what happens if you slash an LCD monitor? Like when you poke it, you can see the liquid crystal inside, and umm my friend and I wondered if you cut it open if that goo would .. goo out. I have an LCD TV and she has an LCD computer monitor, and we are trying our best not to cut them open out of curiousity.

Why don't you ask your friend? Didn't she see it?

hmmm... I wouldn't know. I recommend you should call your malfacturing company or something ( i forgot the name) but you can call a number and you can ask them about that.

Actually there are many dumb questions.....

If you do crack and LCD screen I'm pretty sure some black ink type of fluid will come out and drip all over the screen.

That would be an awesome in a movie... dont' know how you would use it... but i know that you could.

I think its pretty toxic... or it might just be me... another thing that might be fun is to take an old TV and hurl a rock through the window... and then watch the Implosion...

i think some thing would come out, unless it dissolves when it comes in contact with air or something

To put it bluntly, LCD is more like liquid than solid. So I assumed that some sort of liquid is going to seep out if you break the monitor.

wow, i dont think i will be cutting my $500 LCD monitor out of curiosity, unless...

It would probably go all gooey and squishey.

I would really laugh at those who actually attempted to cut up their LCD monitors just to see what's inside (seriously). What would be a better way to make my day than to see five or six people destroying $400+ cdn LCD monitors due to their curiosity?

One of the flatscreen monitors in my computer lab at school got smashed. A black goo did come out, and the screen itself was multicolored. It wasn't that great. I wouldn't try smashing your LCD flatscreen monitor to see for yourself.

LCD - Liquid Crystal Display. Probably an oil like mixture may ooze out.

I'm gonna assume that you already have enough info to find out if the screen bleeds, but I just wanna add this. Maybe the guy who broke into your bro's house had the same curiousity and broke in just to slash the LCD flatscreen monitor. I'm just thinking outloud, I'm sure that wasn't the reason (however, with some people that I know, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case).

TIP TO ALL: dont go around destroying things when you want to know whats inside. I learned that the hard way when I got curious about the inner workings of my brain. Now everyone calls me labotomy boy.
