Oracle of Ages: Time Travel = No Sense

Is is just me, or does the time travel in Oracle of Ages make no sense at all. Well, generally there are two different theories of time travel when characters travel in books or movies or video games. But OoA uses both of them!!! What, you ask. Well, recall the first level when you have to save the gorons from the great moblin. Apparently, in the present the Goron Elder has already been saved. Because he was saved, Bomb Plants became a major crop for Gorons in the present. Of course, you have to save the Goron Elder in the past anyways. That makes sense. But if that is true, what about these problems. First of all, Veran would already be dead, you kill her in the past. Secondly, how come the Maku Tree vanishes in the beginning of the game if you save her in the past anyway? If you've collected essences in the past, how can the Maku Tree sense them in the present??? Any explanations shorter than an essay?

Umm, it seems to me that......

Veran has gone back in time, and is changing history as Link is in the present. So the changes she makes cannot be rectified until Link goes back and cancels out the Veran effect. The Ages seem to exist like seperate universes, and they affect one another.

Re: Oracle of Ages: Time Travel = No Sense

That's a good point...
It's always confusing like that with time travel things. You're in the past and have to hurry to set things right. But, wouldn't the future already be okay since you did your hero bit in the past..? Nah, I obviously can't explain my mind... Lets try again.
In the future, first things are okay. Someone goes to the past and makes a mess. And you see sudden effects. Shouldn't you not know the difference, having lived in a world with the changes... it happened in the past, not two minutes ago.

Do you actually get what I mean, does it make any sense? I'm not the best at explaining things.

Yes, I get it. If someone went back in time and split some random continent in two, you wouldn't know the difference because you'd have lived with the situation all your life.

I hate time travel...I tried a fanfic with it, it ended up a big mess.

It's a video game, and Zelda has more inconsistencies then just about anything else on the planet. That's all there is to it

I hate time travel. It's also quite dangerous, you could end up being your own grandad! Dunno how it works, but hey

Darn, travelling in time seems to be confusing
so better just believe what happens in the game and not speculate it too much although it seems to be against your thoughts
Actually, i never thought anything about that when i beat the OoT.
