I guess most of us were around 8-12 years old when Zelda OOT came out. I was 10 I think and I got it for my birthday! I had only previously played Zelda The Wind Fish on Gameboy (is that what it was called? lol). I remember the first time I played OOT- going into the Lost Woods and seeing one of those Deku nut flower things (next to the bridge) jump out and spit things at me...I found that really scary at first!! I also found the dodongo cavern boss scary, the way you have to jump down the hole not knowing what freaky monster is down there and I defeated Ganondorf/Ganon at 2am one morning (completing the game) and found it so intense that I got nightmares!! So funny looking back at it now

Re: Did Zelda scare or mystify you?
I was 8 when I first played OOT and I totally remember being scared of Death Mountain O.O. When you see it from the view at the Temple of Time as an adult, that's when I got scared. Didn't wanna go back up there. Then there was Skullkid who scared me by the way he moved around. What else... Well, I was mistifyed by the Kokiri Village. I thought it was amazing how they never grew up and had no worries... That's what I remember, now I find that almost every Temple and dungeon amazes me.

Re: Did Zelda scare or mystify you?
I was 4 when it came out, so I don't have an N64, just my friends James and Seth, along with a gamecube and the collecter's eddition...(plus my GDASP) I sometimes wait a month before playing again In all Zelda games... (I'M SO GLAD NOBODY KNOWS MY REAL NAME AND ADDRESS)

Re: Did Zelda scare or mystify you?
Oh and I just remembered, I got freaked out by those zombies that move real slow and screech at you making you paralyzed. They were freaky, and the Shadow Temple (and under the well) was the scariest and darkest temple of them all... I was scared to look round walls and didn't like the mini bosses, the ones with long necks that come and bite you...shudder!

Re: Did Zelda scare or mystify you?
I just finished WW today. I was one of those people who didn't buy it because of the "kiddie" graphics, so I've only had it for about three weeks. I guess the last scene of that would have to be the closest to mesmerized I've ever been playing Zelda.

Re: Did Zelda scare or mystify you?
Well...I wasn't very old when i first played OoT, my brother got it for his birthday, the Wallmasters/Gibdos/ReDeads/Dead Hand scared me stupid, i couldn't sleep at times, thinking that there was a ReDead under my bed, i always used to use the Sun's Song on the ReDeads in the castle town, and used to get my rother to do the Shadow Temple

Re: Did Zelda scare or mystify you?
The games have always mystified and inspired me.
![]() Although. Quote:
Once I somehow got a nightmare from listening to that music "Last Battle" that plays while battling Ganon... o_O I don't understand why, I love that music and fighting that boss. Although, the dream was scarier then than it is now. It's quite silly now. |

Re: Did Zelda scare or mystify you?
Haha, well scary no... I was probably too old and had played much scarier games when I was younger (alone in the dark, dark forces etc.) But Mystifying, for sure! It was like entering a real world! The magic of Hyrule (and even the great sea) will always be with me.
