The burd symbol
Yeah, That burd (eagel) symbol sure shows around, (often with the triforce), on the sheild, Zelda's dress, and here and there.
But what does it means. I don't know. why it always is that symbol, do Hylians appricate Eagles, or do it have anything to do with the Ritos. Or do the owl, like to confuse us, or something. Really, I don't know what it just a normaly burd, or is it a special mark, that stand for something:?????? Say what you guys think....

Re: The burd symbol
The bird symbol can't be to do with the rito, they did not exist in ocarina of time.
and your right the bird symbol does appear a lot, I have all ways wondered what it means. it might just be the symbol of hyrule, like country's have flags flags. Last edited by The Triforce; 05-30-2005 at 09:08 AM.. |

Re: The burd symbol
I hope it doesn't have somthing to do with the American Eagle (as in LoTR,
Man, I hate that arrogance... don't mean to insult any Americans on this forum, but well... you get my point, right?). Luckily, I doubt it has anything to do with that American Eagle. After all, it is a Japanese game. I think the eagle is some kind of common used sign for courage, greatness or something like that.

Re: The burd symbol
Most people agree that the bird is a Pheonix. It symbolises rebirth and immortality. On the hylian shield the pheonix seems to be flying into the triforce and embracing it in a protective stance. I'm not sure what that means but it could indicate that the Triforce itself is like the pheonix in the way that they both offer new life.

Someone could argue that the life of hyrule is like a phoenix, always coming back to life in each of the games (save LA.)

Re: The burd symbol
I think the phoenix stands for link, zelda and ganondorf and their never ending story of rebirth. think about it, the phoenix embraces the triforce and the triforce in a way resembles zelda, link and ganondorf (in the way of wisdom, courage and power..) the phoenix is a sign of the rebirth of them
well at least, that's my theory |

The bird is the symbol of the Hylians.

. Futher more i'm not sure if this thoery is correct but c'mon it is a bird that much we are sure of but this bird is aways red and it is shown on all most all the zelda games. so I can say that that bird on the shield is (in my point of view) a Phoenix |
