Cecile Vonsairn
Name: Cecile Vonsairn
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Water Sprite
-People who have the blood of dragons in them were eventually called Sprites, since they often live longer lives and have characteristics of the dragons who they are akin to.
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 114 lbs
Eye Color: Grey
Hair Color: Pale Blonde
Appearance: Cecile’s hair falls to her mid back, and is usually well kept, though still messy, with a small braid on her right side. Her bangs are cut above her eyes, revealing them clearly. Her face is always very natural looking, she refuses to wear makeup and her face often looks sort of colorless by itself. Her skin is very pale, and to some she might have a ghastly look about her. Her figure is thin with virtually no curves. Her arms are decently muscular, though not noticeable if she isn't doing anything with them, and her hands are pretty normally sized with long fingers and well-kept oval shaped nails. Her legs are long and a bit muscular, and often riddled with small cuts. On the left side of her face, near her ear is a patch of sky blue colored scales. They’re usually hidden by her hair, but there are a few other spots on her body as well. On the side of her left foot is a patch of scales that extends halfway up her calf, and various others cover small areas along the other sides of her body, including her arms. There is another small patch on the palm of her left hand. The skin around the scales is rough and faded grey. When submerged in water, the scales glow slightly.
Cecile wears a loose white tunic with three quarter length sleeves. The neck is low and reveals a turquoise colored tank top. Hidden by the tunic is a pair of brown shorts, reaching just above the length of her fingertips when she stands up straight. She wears sandals with white straps and brown soles, and they have one inch heels. She wears a few brown and turquoise beaded bracelets on her right wrist, and on her left wrist is a single, silver bracelet. Around her neck is a necklace similarly beaded like the bracelets on her right hand, it falls to the middle of her chest, and has a silver dolphin charm on it.
Possessions: Cecile is often trading goods with people. She scavenges for anything and everything that might be of any value, and then stuffs it into her brown shoulder bag, which is a decent size but seems to hold way more than it should possibly be able to. The goods she has are always changing, especially since she doesn’t tend to stay in one place for very long. At the very least, she makes sure to keep bandages with her wherever she goes, and tries to keep a change of clothes as well.
The bag is rather plain, with a few strands of blue beads decorating it, and a couple extra pouches on the front of it.
Abilities: Because of the sea dragon blood inside of her, Cecile is able to control the element of water. She can usually only make real use of this ability if there is a decent amount of water around, such as a stream, pond, or if it’s raining. She usually doesn’t do anything very large-scale, such as creating a tidal wave, unless she is incredibly mad. If she were to do that, it would take a lot of time and energy to build up the wave, even if her water source was an ocean. When someone else that is also able to control water helps her, such as a sea dragon, she is able to control more, and more easily.
While dragons are able to heal illnesses, and everything short of death by offering some of their blood, Cecile is able to heal others’ wounds and soothe their pains by holding the scales on her left hand over the injury. It takes a few minutes, and for the extent of her healing, it could take a half hour or so.
Limits: Cecile cannot control water that is contaminated very well. She can do a few tricks with a quart of juice, but it won’t be quite as easy as it would be if it was pure water.
She can’t heal very great wounds. If it’s deep, she can’t do much but try to lessen the bleeding and soothe some of the pain. Something like broken bones are out of her ability entirely.
Side-effects: While using any of her abilities, her scales will begin to glow slightly. When she's using her abilities to fight, her attitude is a little bit more harsh, and she becomes a little more aggressive.
Others: Cecile, compared to normal people, has a sped up recovery rate. It doesn’t even begin to rival a dragon’s, but it is still noticeable. She is left handed. She cannot breathe underwater as sea dragons can, but can hold her breath for a few minutes without any trouble.
Strengths: Cecile is an excellent swimmer, and not a bad runner, either. While she isn't very skilled in fighting, she is a bit stronger and more capable than an average girl her age. She has a pretty high tolerance for pain, and the scale patches scattered on her body are rough and hard to penetrate. She has a high immunity to most diseases, and is pretty tolerant of cold weather.
Weaknesses: Cecile does not have much physical strength beyond what she needs to swim with, and doesn’t really know any fighting techniques. She’s easy to injure, and pretty fragile in general. She’s often more worried about the people around her than herself in fights, or even with spreading diseases. By simply threatening someone whose defenseless, one can get her to stop what she's doing at any time. When it’s really hot out, she has pretty much no energy at any given time.
Personality: Cecile is very friendly, but knows when to stay away from people who don't want her company. She doesn’t like leaving friends alone when they look lonely, and often tries to comfort others when they’re down, whether they want her to or not. Despite this, she herself doesn’t like to let people see her when she’s sad, and finds herself playing strong even when she isn’t.
Her usual attitude is cheerful, playful and a bit laid back, sometimes she might seem a little too calm. She has a decent sense of humor, but doesn’t dish out too many jokes herself. However, if she gets involved with the right people, she can be quite the trickster.
Cecile can get along with almost anyone (in her opinion), but if someone manages to get her to dislike them, they can put her in a bad mood pretty easily. When she does get upset, it’s usually just her pouting and maybe making a few stupid comments. She usually gets pretty awkward around guys her own age, and a little more sensitive to what they say to her than other people.
Cecile being angry is a rather rare occurrence. However, when she is angry, she might as well be a full fledged dragon. She gets vicious, and almost loses any kindness that she would usually have. During these times, she usually explores her abilities a bit more, assuming she is fighting.
Likes: Efreun, fruit, water, festivities, night time, exploring and eating sweets.
Dislikes: Live insects, poison ivy, hot weather, dry areas, arrogant people. She can’t stand watching people or beasts suffer, whether they deserve it or not.
Fears: Lightning and thunder storms. The possibility of having to kill someone, or losing someone that she cares about.
Virtues: Friendly, honest, hard to anger, cheerful.
Vices: Stubborn, sometimes too trusting and friendly, easily sidetracked, a little obsessed with money, usually bottling up her feelings.
Bio: One day, a young woman came across a sea dragon’s den. At first, the woman was frightened, but the dragon comforted her. The dragon knew her language, and found enjoyment in talking with her, and she frequently visited him from then on. After two years had passed, she eventually stopped going to see the dragon. The dragon grew lonely, until one day the woman came again, carrying a child with her.
The child had been born sick and was dying. She pleaded with the dragon, whom she knew had many powers, to save her child’s life. The dragon agreed, but required that the child come and visit her after she reached the age of five. The mother accepted, and the dragon gave some of his blood to the child, and healed her sickness. Scales began to grow on the child’s body, but the mother rejoiced still, for her daughter lived, and was healthy.
Despite her reptilian features, Cecile was raised fairly normally, and felt welcome in a town of humans. While some of the adults did not approve of her, and some found her to be a threat to the town, the leaders took favor in her. Many of the children that she grew up around treated her like an equal, and in their young age, were even fond of her brilliant scales. As they grew older, it was simply something everyone in the village was already used to.
As promised, at the age of five, Cecile’s mother took her to visit the dragon. They learned that the dragon had found a mate, and had his own children. Every week they would visit them, and Cecile would speak with the dragon and play with his children.
As she grew older, she went to visit the dragon alone and more often, and he began to teach her how to use the powers that his blood had granted her. She learned to control the waters, to sooth pains and heal wounds. She often used that ability to help the townspeople, helping the wounded, and even the fishermen. As she continued to do these things, the people came to accept her more than they already had.
There was one boy in the town, named Aiden, that she was the closest to, ever since the two of them were little. They did almost everything together, including playing the occasional prank. Cecile even took him to see the dragon now and then.
Every year, the town held a festival. They would play music, sing, dance, and everyone would relax and enjoy themselves for an entire week. Lanterns would fill the streets, and even the night sky. On the first night of the festival, Aiden gave Cecile a beaded necklace, complete with a dolphin charm, and began courting her.
However, that did not last long.
On the last night of the festival, a large dragon flew into the town square. Everyone ran when they saw it begin to land, but Cecile made her way there as soon as she saw it in the sky.
By the time she arrived, the square was in flames. Cries of agony and fear rang in her ears. Her eyes searched the areas. People trapped under burning debris, cornered by the flames. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth while an expression of disgust, and fear, now took over her face, as she stared the dragon in the eye.
“Daughter of the sea...” The dragon said, his voice deeper than any lion’s roar, and his piercing gaze set only on Cecile, who trembled as she stood before him. It was not the dragon she knew. His scales shined a brilliant scarlet in the lights of the lanterns, as he breathed they resembled flowing lava. “Do you know of what your father has done?”
She stared into his glowing, yellow eyes. She glanced over his right eye, where four large gashes, resembling a dragon’s claw marks were. “No.” She replied, looking into his eyes again.
The dragon took a deep breath, and the air rushed out his snout, together with small flames, at Cecile. “He has killed my mate, and left only one of my offspring alive.” The dragon responded, now pacing around her, and smelling her. “You reek of your father’s scent...”
She didn’t move, but simply followed his movements with her eyes. “Do you seek revenge? Have you come to kill me?”
She wasn’t sure, but it looked like the dragon smirked. “I wish to make him suffer, before I finally end his life... I have waited for this chance for a long, long time...” The dragon stopped pacing around her and stood in front of her again, staring at her.
Cecile took a deep breath, trying to keep herself calm. “Then, take my heart, gouge it from my chest. Crush it in your claws. After that, leave this town alone. Find my father, and settle your score.”
The dragon laughed. “Do you not care for yourself or your kin, young sprite?”
She shook her head. “My father will destroy you. The town will be safe. When compared to this town and the people in it, what is my life, which should have ended fifteen years ago?”
“What has convinced you that I will simply leave the town be?”
“I was told that a dragon always keeps his word.”
The dragon laughed again. “I need not make a promise to devour you, young one.”
“Well then... what are you waiting for?” After she spoke, the dragon leaped forward, baring his monstrous teeth. She jumped back and headed for the docks, sprinting with more speed than she ever had in her life.
The dragon followed, his pace slowed down by the obstacles that he crashed into. As soon as she came to the wooden docks, Cecile jumped into the water. The dragon came to a halt before the docks, knowing they would break under his weight. He looked into the water, to see a silhouette of another dragon- Eshailn, the sea dragon, shot out of the water baring his fangs. He bit into the dragon’s neck and sunk his claws into his shoulders. He pulled him into the water, where they wrestled, biting and clawing at each for minutes, minutes that felt like hours to Cecile as she watched, filled with anxiety as she waited for one of them to come out of the water.
In a few moments, she was graced with the sight of wet, blue scales, illuminated in the moon and starlight. His scales were torn, blood pouring out of the gashes that his opponent had left him with. Cecile ran to him, and wrapped her arms as far around his neck as she could.
The next day, the town was outraged. Most blamed Cecile, as people had witnessed her discussion with the dragon. Some said it was simply coincidence, or that what happened was unavoidable. Aiden, whose father and sister died in the incident, didn’t know what to think.
It didn’t take long for Cecile to decide to leave. Aiden and her family escorted her to where Eshailn lived. There, she said her goodbyes to her family, and to Aiden. It was night time before her family left, they tried to make the most of the time they had left with her. Aiden, however, stayed until morning. For the first hour that they were alone, Cecile poured her heart out in apologies, regardless of how many times he told her it was alright. After that, they talked until they fell asleep, shoulder to shoulder.
When they woke up, a short kiss goodbye, and Aiden headed back to the town. Cecile stayed with Eshailn for the rest of the day. He warned her of what was happening between the dragons, resentment had been building up between the elders for hundreds of years, to the point where they were now entering into wars with each other. These wars included humans and sprites alike, as there were still people who worshiped dragons as deities and would fight for them. He requested that she be a peacemaker among them, and find a way to stop the dragons, even if it meant killing some.
Reluctantly, she agreed. Eshailn sent one of his dragon cubs with her, a young one that was still practicing the teachings his father gave him, and had not yet learned how to speak with humans.
The next day, Cecile left, with only enough supplies to get her through a few days, and enough money to last a month. After a few penniless days, sleeping outside of towns or in the middle of woods underneath a shabby tent, she was learning how to find things of value and make good deals with traders. After a while, she became quite good at it.
Name: Efreun
Age: 4
Gender: Male
Race: Sea Dragon
Height: 9”
Length: 2’6”
Weight: 47 lbs
Eye Color: Yellow
Appearance: Efreun’s face and frame resembles that of a salamander’s, though his neck and tail are longer. His eyes are large and roundish, and his pupils are, at their smallest, like little slits. Extending from his scaly brows on each side are three thick, horn-like plates, the one in front being a few inches long, and the other two decreasing in size. His wings are not as thick as most dragon’s, but are more thin and fin-like, each one having the same span as his body's length. The sails of his wings are a pale, light blue, while his normal scale color is a sky blue color. The scales around his spine are more rough and darker colored, and begin to stick out more as they continue down his tailbone. At the end of his tail are two sets of fins, a large set, each fin being about a six inches wide, and a smaller set that are about two inches each. His legs are thick, and like the rest of his body, muscular. His claws are not very large yet, and he mostly uses them to climb up things, or people. His teeth are also small, just big and strong enough for him to tear through his food.
Abilities: Efreun, still young and inexperienced, has not learned many abilities that most sea dragons would. He is able to control water like Cecile, but is more clumsy and unable to control as much as she is able to. He is able to give her support and make it easier for her, assuming she is still taking most of the control.
He is able to locate water sources and summon water from them. However, he can only locate and summon from them if they are within a mile radius. The most he can summon is a few gallons, and usually refuses to do it unless Cecile, for some reason, needs it to fight.
Side-effects: His scales will glow slightly when he's using his abilities.
Others: Efreun is unable to communicate with humans at this point, but Cecile can usually figure out what it is he wants when he's bugging people. He is capable of breathing underwater.
Strengths: He is speedy and able to carry himself well, small and able to maneuver through obstacles. He is especially quick in water. He is incredibly cold resistant, and his wounds, unless severe, heal rather quickly.
Weaknesses: He is practically weaponless and cannot really do anything in a fight. His bright colored scales are sort of a dead giveaway, so he can’t hide himself very well outside of water. While he won’t die, temperature higher than around one-hundred degrees fahrenheit is too hot for him to even move without water.
Personality: A little arrogant, and incredibly possessive. If he thinks it’s his, no one can have it. He is especially possessive and protective of Cecile. He is short tempered and cocky, and despises losing, even if he’s often running away. He is a bit sly and good at getting what he wants, especially if someone has a soft spot for him.
Despite all of this, he is able to be very sweet at incredibly rare times. Whether or not it’s just a ploy to get something later, no one knows.
Likes: Cecile, meat, fish, some fruits, water, cold places.
Dislikes: Hot weather, fire, lightning, being in the sun, children.
Fears: Going hungry.
Virtues: On the inside, it is assumed he is a sweet heart.
Vices: Arrogant, cocky, sly, overconfident, occasionally evil.
Bio: Efreun spent the first two years of his life with his family, learning how to use their powers as sea dragons, and playing with Cecile whenever she came to visit. He was entrusted to Cecile when she left her home town, and has seen her as his property ever since.
Since then, in his opinion, he has seen much abuse and disrespect from her. Often left out of the towns that she visits, or locked inside of an inn room until they leave. Sometimes stuffed into a bag. He has had many children try to rip scales off of him, or stretch his face out. Cecile has even made him help her gather items to sell! However, in the end of the day, he has always curled up with her happily, and assumes he always will.
