Whenever I sign contracts, I just put my cell phone number and scratch out home number. Never stopped anybody from wanting my money.
Are you sure that's the case? Maybe they're really just trying to get you to purchase phone service. I don't know why England would be that way when the rest of the world isn't!
We have cable TV and internet, but no home phone in our household.
I thought about getting a home phone, but it seems kinda pointless.
