Question to ZU users

I want to know what happened to the people who were saying bad things about the "Twilight Princess" tittle when they discovered that this one became the official Legend of Zelda NGC tittle? Click here if you dont remember

specially to this guy who said:

"There is no doubt in my mind that this is not the real title. For one thing, it's horribly girly and thus is in complete contrast with the game's style. What a terrible rumour...I wish I had never heard it. In fact, if this rumour is true, I will buy an Xbox 360 and swear off Nintendo forever. To all you weak-minded fools out there that may actually believe this one, think harder! It may hurt you to do so, but try anyway. There is no way Nintendo would make such a stupid mistake like calling a game Twilight Princess. Sounds like a new Barbie doll, for crap's sake. Sorry for the rampage, but I sincerly hate this rumour."
metalink

I just really wanted to know which were your reactions and if metalink is buying a 360 and if he swear off Nintendo already?

Thanks for your attention.

Re: Question to ZU users

I dont think anything happened to them... I doupt peoples will do much more that say HA you were wrong... I dont know if that dude did what he said... But I have to admit in Nintendo's long tradition of odd titles this one is up there so...

I have to say though that TP was the most plausible title of all the rumors I saw

Re: Question to ZU users

They're still around. Most of them have changed their minds as they came to accept the title. The rest are just being quiet.

What exactly do you want with this topic? You want them to come forward and admit they were wrong? Or what?

Have you not read anything lately?? Twighlight Princess is probably one of the best names that they could have given the new zelda game. It makes sense why they named it that because:
1. the land is being overcome by darkness by some evil that by whatever means I don't know is turning link into a wolf when he steps into the twilight.

2. Princess Zelda comes into the twilight, but she wears a certain cloak that when she is in the twilight it protects her from the evil.(Twighlight Princess, hey now that makes perfect sense)

And by the way, what other zelda game titles seem odd to you? I can't think of why any of them would seem odd or contradictory to the game story itself. I don't think that you even know the story behind any of the games.

ps. if you guys don't think that what I said is true, I found it on Gamespot so check it out for yourself.

Re: Question to ZU users

Buddy I know what the title is. What I meant is that it was the less stupid one of all the ones I saw in rumors. I myself still think Nintendo sucks at titles generaly and not only for Zelda. I wouldnt do better, but I still think that they lack originiality...

I wouldnt jump to conclusions about me too quickly. You just misunderstood what I said.

Re: Question to ZU users

Oh, sorry dude. I thought you were talking about just Zelda games, you should of clarified what you meant. But then you say it is one of the less stupid titles that you saw in rumors. To that I say nay, I think that this is the perfect title for the new game. But yes, sadly I do regret that some of Nintendo's titles for other games (besides zelda) do lack originality.
So half of me is against you and the other... well, somewhat agrees with you.

Re: Question to ZU users

I think Twilight Princess is a good name. I mean it does sound more 'girly,' but only because it's got the word princess in it. I mean, we're used to things about objects or gods I guess (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages, etc) but I mean...it still fits. I honestly can't wait till it comes out, this plot seems so clever to me. Maybe 'cause it's so much more unlimited than all the others.

Re: Question to ZU users

My porpuse with this thread is to now the reaction of the ppl who didnt like the tittle before they new it was the official one when they discovered it was the official NGC tittle.

I just want to know how they felt in that exact moment, did you agree? did you got mad? what happened throw your heads in that moment.

I'm not trying to spam. Is just that I was reading what all this people were saying about the tittle and it was funny, I just want to know how they feel now.

Re: Question to ZU users

Who cares what the title is, it`s a Zelda game, you know Ninty`s going to deliver, they always do, that's why you are in this forum. HOw many times do you even see the title anyway, the way most of us play, we play for like 8 or 9 hours at a time, and you only see the game title when you turn the game on. As a side note, the XBOX 360 looks crappy!!!! ^_^

Re: Question to ZU users

It's the offical title, I like it.

And for future reference, the abbreviation (can't spell that) of the Gamecube is GCN, not NGC.

Re: Question to ZU users

I only care for Nintendo's welfare, and let's be honest: A Zelda game called "Twilght Princess" isn't going to make nearly as much money as it would make if named something cooler. You can't change human nature, Nintendo. There will be shallow people who will not buy the game just because of the title.

If I could name the game, I'd call it "Cloak of Twilight". It follows the recent item-naming scheme, It works from a plot point of view, it sounds good, and it avoids embarrassing acronyms. I'll get the game no matter what the title is, but Nintendo should really rethink this. Hopefully, it'll go through a title change before release.

If I were Nintedo I go with the embarrassing acronyms, as to the fact I think that title is pure crap. Explain to me how you think that'd work. Sure it's a good item name, but no, not a good subtitle.

Re: Question to ZU users

The name does seem a little "girly" for a Zelda game, but this one looks like it will be the most mature one yet, so that doesn't seem to matter much. I don't think that you guys should really care about the name anyway. It isn't really a huge part of the game. A lot of us were skeptical of Wind Waker because of the way it looks, but after we played it, we loved it. This'll be just like that.

Re: Question to ZU users

I don't see how the name seems "girly." I really don't see why this is a huge deal either. It's just a name, the game is what matters.

And I don't really think the name will effect sales.

Well, Cloak of Twilight simply fits, as does Twilight Princess, only it sounds better. I'm not sure what you mean by it being a bad subtitle; what's wrong with it?

Cloak of Twilight
The Twilight Cloak

Either of these would be great.

Actually, ALttP didn't make a whole lot of sense. I think that the name is perfect for the game just because, and I think this should make sense to someone out there, "Who am I to question whether the name sounds bad? The game will decidedly kick major ass just because it's a Zelda game!"
