Saria's Song - A Short Fanfic

Brief Explaination: 1. Saria and [the son] of WW Link crossover. 2. It's short. That's the way a short story shoud be. 3. Tana is the Fairy Queen. I chose the name. MINE!

As Saria looked down from the tree she had sat upon that morning she had seen the boy she had once knew many years ago. “Link!” she said, as she jumped down. Link was surprised that she, whoever she was, knew his name. “I have longed to see you for generations, Link.” She embraced him with her warm hands. Link had felt true comfort in her voice. “Who are you?” he asked, astonished. “Link, it’s me. Saria. Don’t you remember me?” He had no clue what she was talking about. She spoke softly. “I was afraid of this. You are not the same boy I knew many generations ago, in a distant land,”
she said. “Who was this boy, and why did you mistake him for me?” Link posed. He was eager to find out the answer. Perhaps she could tell him more about this other “Link” and why Tana had sent him here, to this forest place. “ This boy was not like the other children of the forest. He had no fairy. I see even you do not have one, so you are not him. He was given a fairy by the Great Deku Tree. Her name was Navi. He cared deeply for that fairy, just as I had to him.” She looked away. Her eyes had filled up with tears that Link could tell needed to cry. “It’s allright. Tell me more,” “He was my best friend. He wasn’t like any other Kokiri I had ever known.” “But you’re just a kid..Saria...why are you weeping for a boy that you said lived generations ago? You wouldn’t have even been alive then,” Link whispered. “No, no, you don’t understand. Us forest children live forever, always as little children. We never grow up here, and neither will you unless you leave. We are blessed with immortality from the Great Deku Tree, a gift that would have been given to him if it wasn’t for Ganon and his evil minions. I hear he is risen in power once more. Tell me, are you out to destroy him?” Link nodded. “Then may the gods bless you with the courage you need to defeat him. Come to my house, and eat. It is almost evening. Then we can talk some more.”

After eating a variety of food that Saria had made herself, they sat in front of a small fire outside her house. He was determined, Saria thought. Just like him, she said to herself. “Saria, do you think about him often?” “Yes, of course,” she said. “all the time. He was destined to leave, though. He left to become the Hero of Time.” “The Hero of Time? I’ve never heard of that,” Link said. “I do remember though, of a mentioning of some hero in some ancient scrolls I read,” he remembered the scrolls Mordecai had shown him at home. “That is him, the one who saved Hyrule.” Saria said, calmly. She looked up at the stars, as if to find him among the constellations. She was truly at peace at that moment. “I remember, one night, he said to me before he left, ‘Look up at the stars, and you will always find me.’” She wept. Link held her as her tears trickled down her face. “He is gone. That is for certain. But I will love him forever.” Saria spoke softly. Her spirit was released from the inevitable tragedy of his death through this boy. She knew that life must go on. “Can I be your friend, because it gets ki-” Link held her close. “Sure.” They embraced for a long time. She put her head on his shoulder, as he looked up towards the stars.

Well was okay, kinda cute actually but is difficult to read. You really should space the dialogue out of the paragraphs, otherwise is just a big wall 'o' words. Write any other short stories?

Aw. I like your small fanfic Quest_For_Zelda. It's very cute and sad at the same time. But as Achitka said for the dialogue you need to use paragraphs to sepreate what Saria and Link are saying.
