Possible suggestion

Recently I've seen alot of computer help threads in the General Chit-Chat that could be grouped into the General Gaming section. I would like to see a revamp of the gaming section to include more computer and console based FAQ's so to stop people from posting such useless questions, when it could be solved in one thread/section. And yes, I'm looking at you Dokanno >.>

Actually, altering the Entertainment section to fit those requirements would be a better choice. A computer is entertainment, after all.

I see the entertainment more as a film, tv, anime, books, etc. section, than a media related section. I see your point though.

Well, we've had a similiar thread in FSAQ, about having a computer thread or forum. It's Microsoft that really cuase all this stuff, making users post 'WINDOWS IS NOT WORKING!' and 'HELP!' stuff. (Say, I just called myself stupid)

Kagun, if you have nothing to contribute, don't post. Makes you look less like a fool and annoys less people.

Most of the stuff conversed about in Entertainment could be called media-related.

Well yes. I mean it in more of a tech way, as I see mainly tech related stuff pointed in the GCC, whilst other stuff gets covered in either the Entertainment or the General Gaming section, whilst it would be nice to have it grouped in either its own forum or sub-forum.

Maybe just put a sticky in the GCC or GG section (mods can decide), "Official Computer Help Thread" just like the general advice thread, that way knowledgable people on the subject can reply in there to all the questions asked.

Things could get lost you see. I see alot of people disregarding lots of posts in the previous pages of a thread, which could happen in this thread. It's up to the mods/admins really.

Not too long ago there was a thred on that. It was decided as no.

And, I think it's fine to have ' em in Chit Chat.

I honestly don't see any needs for something like this. This is a forum based around Zelda afterall, and while we certainly try to keep it as open as possible to discussions of all kinds, I think devoting an entire forum just to computer tech help would be completely off track, since it has absolutely nothing to do with anything that has to do with Zelda. Imagine a computer tech forum devoting a section of their forum to Zelda, that would be the same thing really.

General Chit Chat will do fine for the odd computer issues people feel the need to ask in here, but generally I would reccomend that people find other and more educated places to ask these types of questions, at least if there are any serious problems.

And still they get locked, when told this is a Zelda forum. So if it's okay to post threads about computers, but why do they get locked? >.>

Most likely because the answer has already been answered.

There have been about 9 computer/internet problem related threads in General Chit-Chat in the past month, and I can easily say that 1/3 of them have been locked because the question has been answered.

But what about computer related discussion? Say that happens in a question thread, and it gets answered due to the discussion, which could be good, then gets locked. I don't see alot of point locking answered threads, unless its in the FAQ section. They can be left for discussion, and then left to rot down the pages of forum death. Again, it's up to you guys.

No discussion = lock, decent discussion = no lock.

And here = lock.

One last thing. Thank you, captain obvious, I had no idea it was up to the mod team! That's incredible! Seriously, though, giving us permission to do our jobs is annoying, and I'd be happy if people stopped that. (That's not just to you, Yami.)
