It wasn’t like he didn’t know what he had done. Killing innocent farmers was sure enough wrong, from a human perspective. But from his view, he was justified, which was why he did not take the guy approaching as a threat. And if he did prove to be aggressive he would surely not be any more hassle than the farmers.

He had not expected him to attack on sight, however, and his first thoughts were not thoughts of battle, but merely an annoyance of being interrupted during his meal. “Relax,” he muttered as the man shouted angrily at him. “Go find someone else to bother.” But apparently, the guy was deaf, as he suddenly attacked, forcing Derek to awkwardly reach for his sword to defend himself.

But before he even got the chance to rise his sword in a defending position; sitting down were not the preferred stance, the man grabbed his wrist, did some fancy moves, and before he could gather his thoughts, the sword was forced out of his hand and landed on the ground with a loud clang as the blade hit a rock.

Derek ripped his hand from the man’s grip and shrieked a high pitched shriek to stagger him enough to retrieve his sword.

“Hey! What was that for!?”
