It does seem a bit more exclusive than it should be, though. Maybe if you've been here long enough to join a clan but choose not to do so, you could request to see the Temple of Light and Dark? I don't see any harm in that. It prevents the main visible forums from being cluttered with spam and people who choose not to join a clan (or have sworn them off, like Blizz) can still play dumb little forum games if they want.
