LA : DX?

0k, now im kindof new to zelda and im starting to like it even more.. i have beaten OOT, OOS, and TMC, so now im going to try to get LA DX.. but is it really hard?, and is it a good game?

And yes, Link's Awakening is the best portable Zelda game. It's more fun and more original than Capcom's two Oracles titles, and probably the hardest of them all. The atmosphere of the game is incredible considering it's a Game Boy game, and the dungeons are better than what's been done in recent Zeldas. The DX version has very few changes from the original, so it's not like your gameplay experience will be any different. It's a bargain right now, considering that you can pick it up for five or ten dollars. Don't hesitate to get it.

Yes, it's an excellent game. Like I said, there's no reason to not buy it, unless you don't have the money. It's a shame that so many people haven't played it, as it's one of the best Zelda games - I'd even wager it gives Ocarina of Time a run for its money in some aspects.

And yeah, about the spelling and stuff, that's much better. Thanks. It's just much easier to read when people don't act like they're on AOL or something.

Just for your information, the DX version of the game has more of an emphasis on color. It had color added to it, for the then brand new GameBoy Color, so if you play it on your GBC/GBA, it will have nice amounts of color to it. Also, it has a new bonus dungeon, where the puzzles are based on color, IIRC. The prize is your choice of one of two tunics - one that doubles your attack power, and another that doubles your defense power.

Yes, the colour dungeon is quite easy and lets you pick up one of those tunics. If you don't want to make your game a little easier, then don't do it until you've beaten the game.

As for additonal changes, there is some text you now cannot skip, the game makes full use of the Game Boy Color's colour capabilities, and there's a new side-quest which revolves around getting photographs taken of Link. There's a Game Boy Camera feature too, which lets you print the photos taken of Link if you have the Camera. But overall, there isn't really much that actually affects the gameplay, as opposed to, say, the GBA re-release of A Link to the Past, which had tons of changes to it.

I disagree. I've beaten the Oracle games and Link's Awakening, but the Oracles took me the most time. I'm sure what you wrote was just your opinion(s). Enough about the difficulty, I still don't think Link's Awakening is better than the Oracle games. The Oracle games had so many creative features and items, they're pretty much legendary in my eyes. I think LA is overrated.

Yea, some people say they can't decide between LA and the oracle games. I have beaten the oracle games, but since i havent yet played LA I don't know which ones better, But more people are saying that LA is.

Links Awakening is an excellent Zelda game, which i have recommended to all my mates numerous times to buy. Some places i found hard to beat, and the added colour dungeon was a great addition to the game. A must have for all Zelda gamers.

I've played both Link's Awakening DX and Oracle of Ages extensively. They're both fun games, but of the two, I found that OoA was indeed easier. Some of the bosses in OoA were just too easy. Like Plasmarine. Laughably easy. Still, OoA is a really great game, and I'd recommend it just as much as LA. Also keep in mind that OoA should be a lot easier to find than LA.

Ive played DX more than any other games, and ive played evry version up to this date besides the ones for NES, and im still furious about it, i want to play them very bad. And yes, it is incredible, the best gb zelda game next to tMC, and I higly recommend you get it. The storyline, art, and just the style of the game rocks. Definitly get it, dude, you wont be dissapointed, and youll like zelda 100 times more.

The Oracle games in their own rights are great games - very challenging and the linking thing is great. Link's Awakening is a classic game. I think whether it's 'better' than the Oracles is all a matter of your own tastes and what you want from the game. Link's Awakening is a brilliant game, and one of my favourites. It's the only portable Zelda game I can 'dip into' and really enjoy, as the others are all too involved. Like if you leave it for a while you totally forget what you were doing and just wander around aimlessly. Well, I do.

i just traded for dx with my cousin. its fun, jut kinda annoying (die you fricking raccoon die!!!! :mad: ), not too mention i had some cool thing, oh yeah, i got the magic rond, and now its gone! it sucks! oh well, i think i forgot to save, as well as forgot where to get the magic rod. anyway, i always find 2-d zeldas annoying, so dont take my word for it.

Well, I just asked my mom to get it for me last night. She got it for 15$
