Lightbulb My first poem and one of my lyric pieces...

Ok, this poem is my first one that I've written (besides those simple little ones you had to do in elementary school) I wrote this poem not very long ago but I have written lyrics for about 2 years so i thought i'd show one of those too, although it's not my first song though....

Here's the poem...

"Unlabeled"

I sit here and ponder, but know what they say
I know what they think and how their game's played
A few knights, a few rooks, and so many pawns
A couple bishops but only one king, oh it's so wrong!
There's too many of this and too little of that
Hurry choose quick you shouldn't be last
You stay here! No, go there!
Quickly stampeding with knots in their hair
Twisting and turning, stumbling on shoelaces
Feet nipping and pinching the heels and the faces

Oh the exhaustion, it's all so complex
And I stand aside; they're thinking I'm next
But I hold my place, and I watch their eyes
I see them flinch as they're greeting my eye
A smirk, not a smile, forms within my lips
And I mock them so, laughed at any who tripped
Any who screamed, any who cried
But I also cringed at all gone awry
And I listen now to the faintest sounds
To the whispering wind and the rustling leaves
To the awkwardest of awkwards this silence brings
No one speaks, no one cowers
As my lone self slowly sours
One man dares to cross my path, down no way
And as he reaches me, I'd plan what he'd say

"Who are you? It seems I've forgotten
I know you're name, remember your face
But there's this hole that I've dropped in
Are you with them or with me?
For unknown reasons it's hard to see
Are you alive, could you be dead?
Oh! That's it; it's all in my head!
I know now that you don't exist
I know everything but I just can't resist
Asking questions I thought I had answers to
Judgmental phrases words can't undo"

The closer you are I imagine you'll find my stench
My unearthly appearance no one seems to digest
Yes, I'm sure that's all to blame
Or is my sarcastic flavor too much for your tastes?
And here I stand; you're just two feet away
As I step back you're still walking this way
You've reached me and then you stand by my side
Then I glare at myself frightening that lie
The one I created for you, the one I cooked up
Made fresh in my mind, I threw it away, what a childish lie

Now stare at them and they'll watch us stand
In between all sorts of pieces to this puzzled land
Some drenched in black, others in formal
Some pepped with spirit, others just beyond normal
Some with heavy heads and others who bang heads
Popular or alone
Rich or poor
Unfortunate others we won't adore
We shouldn't be misjudged for having some name
Shouldn't be caught up in such a complex game
So I still remain
Unlabeled

This is the song...

"Nowhere Is Home"

Traveling alone are the winding roads
Walking alone you follow them
And as the sidewalk fades
It won't matter where you go
There's no path set before you now

And didn't you hear the voices in the air
And didn't you feel the wind breathing in your hair
The streets alone eventually meet
Finding each other like the grass beneath your feet

No, it's all too perfect
It's all so flawless
Those who believe in lies
Form the sight known as blind
But unlike them you just close your eyes

Nowhere is home, no place to call your own
Wandering alone the rain falls on you
And as the evening steals the day
Throw away what you used to know
I won't see anything, my eyes are closed too

And didn't you hear the singing in the air
And didn't you feel the wind swimming through your hair
The streets alone eventually meet
Forming together like streams on concrete

No, it's all too perfect
It's all so flawless
Those who believe in lies
Form the sight known as blind
But unlike them I just close my eyes

Traveling alone are the winding roads
Nowhere is home, the place no one owns

And do you feel the rain on your face
Do your lips let you have a taste
Could you give it just one chance
Feel it run down your arms and over our hands
And I believe I've found nowhere

No, it's all too perfect
It's all so flawless
Those who believe in lies
Form the sight known as blind
But unlike them we just close our eyes

What do you think?...

I will be learning soon however so it should be up and running soon. Hurry up and post some more poems here. I'll keep an eye out for them. By the way, please check out my post titled poems by southernbell, it's currently on the second page of the forums. Sniff sniff. Lol.

I hate this for what it was established for. For what sent me into years of oblivion, what subtracted my exsistance from the rest of the world. What left me utterly alone in the world, left me thinking I was loved.

All those voices that called to me...slaughtered my name.

Re: My first poem and one of my lyric pieces...

I've been having creative problems lately and havnt been able to write much, but I do have a few poems on this site. I would also like to put your song to music and use it if it is okay with you. I just need to make sure so no one gets ticked off. PM me if it is okay.
