Not surprised by this at all.

Minecraft has become very very popular. Sorta like how the first FPS game launched an entire genre. Now there are countless FPS games spanning just about every game console.

Minecraft is also one of those ideas that makes me wonder 'How has no one done something like this before?" because I can't think of many games that are like Minecraft.

So yeah I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of different games like minecraft start popping up. But Minecraft will most likely stand out as the better what with all the mods and texture packs. Its simple for those who like simple and it provides more for those interested in something beyond just the gameplay.

Or something like that.

Also Minecraft has Creepers. Can't beat that.
