I haven't played the game, but from what i'm hearing, it's golden sun with zelda characters... Is this correct?

it has the same scheme as any other recent 2d zelda. i havent played golden sun, but basically TMC is a zelda game with new weapons and abilities, ANOTHER take on the map design of hyrule, and a fresh plot. thats pretty much all i have to say, you might have to look at more info on tMC then decide for yourself.
[edit]
as for my own tMC experience, i can honestly say i was repeatedly blown away by the new zelda instalment. i have played most of the zelda games through, including completing all of their side-quests and obtaining all the optional things, perhaps bar Adventure of Link, and i am halfway through A Link to the Past. so naturally, i was expecting something of similar in design and playability to the other past instalments to the franchise. and i was wrong [of course]. from the ingenous new items, for example the Gust Jar, to the brand-new side-quest concept of using items to interact with the people more [i'm taking kinstones, here], actually encouraging you to talk to more people than you need to and uncover everything, tMC has constantly inspired me in both playing games and creating them. so yeah, im pretty much extremely impressed by this game. i cant wait for what they have in stall for LoZ'05.
