Re: How could Minish Cap been better?
TMC was a decent game, and I did like it. However...
It was rather weird having the Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind Element theme being brought into Zelda. Seemed to me to be the result of a poor imagination.
I thought there should have been many more areas to explore in Minish form. Almost every Minish area was just a straight path. I thought it was a shame that there weren't more creative tiny areas, because the graphics in those places were very nice. They could also have made up for the smaller overworld. And the setup of the overworld wasn't that exciting, with each area being boxed in.
The sidequests used overwhelming quantity as an excuse for poor quality. They were too random and repetitive and often not at all rewarding (How often did you fuse a Kinstone to reveal a chest containing...a Kinstone?). Once again, there was also major Heart Piece overkill.
Most importantly, to me at least, the game could have used a deeper story with some real characters. TMC's plot was to corny and flat to be at all interesting.
