It seems a bit suspicious that there were already fan wishes and theories involving a game after MM before the alleged leak came out. Almost as if someone read fan theories and then told them what they wanted to hear. Seems like fans have been trolled.

While it's not impossible they would try to make Zwii into another lead into the old games, it seems very unlikely. Not only is Ganondorf probably dead in both branches, but it would be effectively painting themselves into a corner with future game plot.
