Re: In need of a hero [Random]
OOC: Ah, I'll go with "not magical" then, and act accordingly. Slightly more dramatic this way, as roaring flames surrounding a duel where the two fighters can hurt each other is more interesting, I think.
Khaagas treated the internal explosion of power within the hero the same way it treated the man's appearance in the first place. With casual disregard.
Flames knocked back temporarily earlier were flaring back up, fully renewed and spreading to the surrounding trees, catching them up with fire as if the hundred year old oaks were made of wads of dry newspaper. The mighty forest sentinals did not collapse instantly under this inferno, but over the course of the previous moments, already were dropping limbs in the most inconvienent locations, as if they knew what they were doing. Which, in a very real and magical way, they did.
The surrounding forest, quite frankly, was slowly... or not so slowly... becoming quite the death trap. Another falling branch came down, seperating the family. It blazed hot.
And now, the red monster casually stepped into these flames, into the hottest areas of them. Laughing in a horrifying dark manner, the rising fire hid its body as well as tall savana grass hides a lion. And within these flames, it stalked around.
From this position, it considered the situation. It wasn't feeling all that good... there was a large hole in its back. Khaagas had lost a considerable amount of mass. It would return within a day or so, so long as Khaagas stayed within flames, but right now, at this moment, it was upsetting the creature's balance. At least it hadn't lost any limbs right now.
Running around in circles within the rising flames, Khaagas filled the forest area with echoing sounds. Eerie, creepy, terrifying. Samku looked round and round, trying to pinpoint the beast. Sending blasts of energy into the flames.... beating them back, causing them to subside for mere moments before they would rise again double, spreading even further into the woods.
A scream rang out from the younger girl. The boy, her brother, that she had been standing next to just a moment earlier hadn't even time enough to cry out before Khaagas's sinuous tail had severed his neck. Samku then dove towards that location with unbelievable speed, finding the girl and the dead boy next to her, but no monster. Instead, there was a pentagram inscribed in the ground, glowing red.
The flames roared louder. The beast could be anywhere. A clawed hand lays there on the ground within the flames. It seems that not all your blasts missed... and the strength of them completely cut through the thing's wrist.
But the beast watches and waits from another world, planning the next strike. The surviving family was going nowhere for the moment, not without help. Even with help, where is there to go that the beast cannot follow? Even with the power of gods, how do you fight a creature you cannot find?
The flames roar.
