Holy crap. EA...
http://money.cnn.com/2005/01/17/comm...ming/index.htm
To sum it up, EA now has exclusive video game rights to ESPN and all it's properties for fifteen years. Goddamn. I hate that company.

Re: Holy crap. EA...
I would be a bit more angered if I liked sports games. I like some of their stuff, but do not agree with their approach to the gaming market or the work environment they put their employees through.

Re: Holy crap. EA...
I don't care much about sport's games but EA is probably the worst company out there. Isn't EA also buying Ubisoft? EA is one power hungry company and I'm ashamed to own one of their games...so it's 15 years of EA's crap sport's games...I guess their's always mario golf.

I don't really care about this EPSN thing. I don't really like sports games, except for extreme sports. Plus, I don't know why this is such a bad thing. EA excels at sports games. |

Re: Holy crap. EA...
Indeed. Racing games like Need For Speed series are simply beautiful. While EA sucks in all other areas, they seem to do the best in sports genre.

Doesn't mean a damn thing. Sega can still make the "2k" series. It just won't be called "ESPN" anymore. And EA will still make thier SAME sports games...they just won't be called madden. All they really bought was a name.

Re: Holy crap. EA...
I hate EA Games and I've always hated them, they make the crappiest games ever, just look at what they did to the James Bond games, god.
Hopefully someone will buy EA and fire everyone that work there and change their name to something else. The more they expand, the more I feel like blowing their headquarters in pieces. I want to nuke these bastards.

Re: Holy crap. EA...
In the end, I think we can agree on one thing:
"Less complicated organization makes better games" Take Goldeneye 64 for an example. The last time that I heard about it, was that only eight people were working on GE 64. Eight people. And Goldeneye 64 is the best game for years to come, until the new generation consoles. Then, take Goldeneye: Rogue Agent for an example. Though the game is good, it's lacking that certain feeling which you get when you play GE 64. Rogue Agent has more than 100+ people working on it, but why it isn't as good as the old Goldeneye?

Sega COULD make games about college football or something, but it'd be doomed from the start. EA now has NO competition whatsoever in the football area. Now, I don't give a damn about football games, but it's the principle of the whole thing, combined with EA's business tactics as a whole, that annoy me.

Re: Holy crap. EA...
Well, I don't really blame them at all. If I were able to do it, I would to.
I have no problem with this seeing as EA makes fantastic sports games and games in general for that matter. They're the biggest stateside company for a reason. It's buisness. Eliminate the competition fairly if you can. That's also common sense. Basically, I see alot of you saying "Hey! That's not fair!". Well, I'm almost certain sega would've done the same thing if they could've. Or at least if they have half a brain they would've. There's no such thing as playing fair when it comes to this.
