Appearance:
Head – Brax has a very androgynous face. This mostly due to being so young, but also because he is simply a beautiful boy. He has often been mistaken for a cute little girl, due to his soft and delicate features. His hair is a dark red shade that hangs limply around his face at a medium-long length, bangs parted to the side and somewhat shorter than the rest of his hair. It’s often in an untidy sprawl due to being an energetic and active child. He’s often also rather dirty with smudges on his cream toned ivory skin. He has beautiful golden brown eyes that are wide with innocence and often curiosity that always follows him wherever he goes.
Body – He’s rather tall for his age, but very thin and lanky. His friends often tease him for it and also for being so girlish in his features. They have nicknamed him “stick” due to his very thin body frame. His feet are tough and calloused due to not wearing shoes very often.
Clothing – Worn out and torn tunics and cloth pants of dark plain colors are often all Brax has to wear. His father tries to keep him clean despite being so poor, but Brax often dirties his clothes faster than his father can keep up with. He wears no shoes; he saves those only for winter, during the summer, spring, and fall Brax runs barefoot.

Strengths:

• The only thing Brax can really use to his advantage is his speed for such a small child. He’s light and thin, and fairly fast because of it. Running is one of his favorite things to do. He is faster than all the other children his age, but that’s about it. Athletic adults would have no issues in catching him.
  
  
• Due to his elf ears, he has sharp hearing. His hearing is very advanced compared to normal beings, such as humans. He can focus on certain sounds, pick up strange and usually unnoticeable noises, and then fade out of focus as to not damage his ears should there be a sudden din.

Weaknesses:

• Brax is weak to nearly everything because he’s just a small child and has no skills in any areas besides running.
  
  
• Though his sharp hearing is a strength, it is also a weakness. If a very loud noise were to occur while Brax is listening so intently, honing his ears, it will hurt his sensitive ears, causing him to become disarmed and stunned for a rather long time. He cannot block out this kind of pain. It could even damage his ears permanently.

Personality: Brax is extremely energetic and curious of everything around him. He’s also rather intelligent for being so young. Though, he can often have trouble listening when something has grabbed his very curious attention. He has an unconscious thirst for knowledge and experiences. He doesn’t really care that his features are girlish, there’s often more important things on his mind—usually some kind of curiosity that has recently snagged him and his imagination away. Sometimes he doesn’t even bother to correct others of his gender and lets them carry on thinking that he’s a girl. If he does, he simply mentions it as a side note, without anger or annoyance. He’s very used to it and doesn’t really find it offensive.

Also, Brax tends to be rather oblivious to social norms. He has a goofy sense of humor and likes to laugh often. Brax has been known to run around in the nude, proving his rightful gender. He claims being naked is far more comfortable. It seems he doesn’t get embarrassed very easily, and often acts completely silly. He is also known to have a motor-mouth, especially when he is dying of curiosity. However, he is also known to be quiet when he is deep in thought.

History: Brax’s parents were poor, due to an attack on their village by a group of drow. They only managed to escape. All their other possessions were left behind. His mother had been pregnant with him at that time. They managed to find another settlement but struggled to survive still. His mother became very depressed and stressed because of this. After Brax was born she had postpartum depression. She and his father argued a lot after that. Eventually she simply left one day and never came back.

His father then was left to raise Brax on his own, in very poor conditions. He did his best to be loving and caring for his son, though he was often very stressed which made him irritable at times. This son was all he had left anymore. So he loved him dearly.

Brax grew up and played with the other poor children in the settlement. Running around and being active. He won all the races and loved his father dearly too. All they had were each other now. So he always forgave his father’s harshness during his stressed periods. Often it seemed Brax was taking care of his father, rather than the other way around.
