Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

I saw it today and I thought it was just as hilarious and at the same time extremely morbid and mature(which is weird becasue it was only PG). I never thought I would laugh THIS much during a Harry Potter movie. It goes to show how all the character have excellent chemistry and work together really well. When it got serious, it showed a newer side to the franchise. Not quite as dark as Goblet of Fire, but still quite dark.

Although I have to say that by the end of the movie, it felt a little difficult to swallow, so to speak. Some parts kind of felt like it was just a scene, after a scene, after a scene with multiple storylines that were a bit difficult to balance for a movie a little over 2.5 hours(Voldemort's past, Malfoy's mission, the love relationships, snape's true allegiance, etc etc).

Coming from someone who had read the first 6 books twice, I think it's just something that works better with books thn movies and/or just a personal preference, because you can read at your own pace, whereas with a movie, you have to go with its pace.

that being said, I loved the movie, and will definately see it again and again(probably even more times in theatres than any other the other HP movies so far). Without a doubt one of the best movies this summer.
