1) Only the first game you play starts with Link going to Hyrule Castle to see the Triforce; the linked game just starts you out in whatever land it is set in
2) The fact that there is a linked game (and that the "Ganon" ending is part of it!) indicates to me that both Oracles games take place in sequence, on the same timeline!
3) The split timeline wasn't even developed when OoX was made!
