Which is something I've always found very odd, considering that the game borrows heavily from fairy tales and myths. The Master Sword is a pretty clear allegory to the King Arthur legend. The Hylians are all elf people, and Link is dressed like some kind of fairy boy, which he's even called by Malon. It's strange that a game with such heavy fairy tale implications always seems to have a very bittersweet, un-fairytale-like ending.
