Tim Burton's Legend Of Zelda?

I was thinking about some of the elements of Majora's Mask the other day whilst playing my questionably obtained Homebrew copy of it, and I got to thinking... doesn't it loosely resemble a Tim Burton production? The atmosphere and plot, to me, both heavily resemble something from said director, and I don't think it's coincidental either. In fact, if you look at some of the promotional art for the game, it has heavy shading and uses a dark navy town as a backdrop, heavily resembling the tone and artistic style of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

And it got me thinking... would you like another game like this? A game that presents elements of a child-like psyche, and then utterly twists said innocence? A game that feels more personal, but also more disturbing? An 'Alice In Wonderland' of sorts, only more warped?

Or, as a more interesting question, would you like to see, dare I say it, a Zelda game that is worked on by Tim Burton (be it as a director, visual designer or plot creator) in the future? It's very unlikely, but Nintendo has hired out Zelda to companies like Flagship before, and recently Nintendo has been getting pretty loose on their policies (breaking the three-generation tradition of one Core Mario per system, getting more celebrity endorsement despite ignoring the temptation for years, and so on). I'm not really asking wether it's likely though, I'm more asking wether you'd WANT a Tim Burton Zelda. And it's not like he's alien to taking on other people's franchises either - he did an excellent rendition of Batman in the 90s (although it has since been topped by Christopher Nolan).

I'd personally love to see a Tim Burton directed Zelda. It'd push the Zelda series forward further than a traditional, conservative Japanese director would for Zelda, potentially progressing storytelling, making the storytelling less cliched, and making much needed presentational changes like addition of Voice Acting. Plus, who's to say he wouldn't also be amazing on the gameplay side of things? When Steven Spielberg crossed over into gaming, he made the highly entertaining Boom Blox. I wouldn't want him to take over permanently, but as a one-time thing like Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask, Tim Burton on Zelda would be great.

So - how would you feel about Tim Burton working on Zelda? I ask this question because I feel it will have a controversial outcome, with many conservative members who don't like change (or Tim Burton) opposing the concept, and many who like his works or who want Zelda to spread it's wings will side with me. And people have liked more controversial ideas, like futuristic Zelda, so why not?

Opinions?
