I wasn't a member of this site when Twilight Princess was realeased so I don't know about people here. But every other gaming site around was abuzz with Zelda excitement. Many were saying that the gaming world would change after its release. Once I finally got the game (a month later because I did not have a wii in '06) I found it a very good game. However it simply didn't live up to the hype. So my question is does hyping a game too much ultimately lead to disappointment? I know it did for me, and that isn't fair to TP because it really is a good game.
I'm pretty irregular here, so I was planning on just leaving prior to the releases of the two upcoming games, what are your plans?
Or am I just wrong?

Sadly this game was so hyped up that most people were disappointed with it.
Even more sadly for myself was that I was so disappointed with it on certain aspects yet at the same time it blew me away not just in awesome cutscenes, but in the whole world and characters, storyline etc. But no, when the head guys at Nintendo said they were trying to make it better than
OoT that is all they meant. They weren't trying to make the ultimate game that makes all other games look bad... or the ultimate experience... none of that sort. Just a really really good Zelda game.
Nintendo over the years has surprised us with many things... I suppose with releases like
OoT. So we always expect more and more... Is it possible to get more? I know it is... because I've dreamed about it. Has Nintendo? Obviously not. Depending on how the next Zelda turns out I'm seeing is quite possible that Nintendo don't even know what is good for their own games.
They also seem to be a lot more interested in dominating the market than making their best gaming series even better. Like I said, as Zelda fans we always expect more and more as well as better and better and Nintendo don't seem to think this is the necessary approach. I know if they got some real good story writers, focused on making an awesome mythology and world and then develop the game from there they would create a game that would transcend history (sounds fanboyish but its true) and we all know it. Miyamoto is a ****head and seems to be concentrating on the "gameplay" aspects of the next Zelda. Is this the right approach? I don't think so. What is going to happen (just like with the Wolf Link in
TP) is that they will spend 3-4 years developing their so-called gameplay innovation and it will get them as far as what Wolf Link did (I loved wolf link and thought it suited Zelda series beautifully but they failed on the innovation aspect). Now I have low hopes for the next Zelda, literally. Though if they really can do something innovative like making a weapon that Link fights with that can transform etc etc... then that would be something.
