I like this idea, but obviously it would be more difficult to implement than the original Notebook without a closed, looping schedule. The features you've suggested would actually provide some depth without feeling too ripped off from MM's sidequest structure.
Lots of games have "friendship" systems, Harvest Moon being a prime example, so I think it would be pretty easy to adapt such a system for Zelda.
