So you wish to take part in this for amusement?

In the past students may have broken rules but they never behaved as vile as students behave now a days. Surely you should consider that as a factor.
Our rules are much tighter in some areas now, and violent crimes were at least as commonplace.

I wonder how long it will take for the government to take severe actions against teenagers who behave in an unruly manner. They really have gotten out of control in mass numbers in some areas of UK.
Have the mass riots begun?

Surveys are not scientific.
Take Stat and you will realize that large samples like such are.

Our school will never record the amount of children misbehave in our school. Half of it is ignored and if they did use statistics people would never send their child to that school.
No, parents are too optimistic and it can be used as an excuse for more funding.

If students are expelled then that is not really solving the problem. It has long term implications.
How would beating them up be different?

Even a basic look through literature from the past shows that the stereotypical kid from back then tended to play hooky, get into fights, and play lots of...questionable practical jokes.

And that's in elementary school.

You don't hear about what kids did in high school because they didn't go to highschool unless they were very, very rich.

Then, once highschool and university become affordable, but corporal punishment is still allowed, you get kids acting exactly like kids do now.

Clearly this is not a statistical study by any means, but I rather doubt that corporal punishment actually has any effect. I was never hit growing up, I'm not a terrible person. Indeed, none of my friends ever were, they all turned out fine.
QFT.

Again, the violent crime rate now is lower than it was 50 years ago. Heck, it's lower than any time in history save the past couple of decades.
Of course, you won't hear about that from the fearmongers.

Look at Britain, where, so it's been told, some youths are carrying knives around to stab others with.
The US is an alarmist nation that actually has a relatively low crime level.

The question that one should ask about the other claims is if that is not common and why they only apply in that area. (I don't know if it's true or not, just saying.)
