When it comes to dialogue, you have to be realistic (unless you're doing a parody- then be as ridiculous as you want.) The fact of the matter is, no actual person would say something like that- especially Mario. Mario has no problem saving the Mushroom Kingdom for an admittedly dim-witted princess; therefore, I would doubt he would be that articulate when he speaks. It's okay to be somewhat articulate in description- after all, that's what the thesaurus is for. If we said the same thing a hundred times, the story would become stale quickly.

I suggest going through and reading this out loud to yourself. It helps to do that anyway to weed out bad wording. And if all else fails, grab a buddy to proofread for you.
