Re: The War of the Triforce: A New War OOC: I apologize for not posting much lately, and for the lack of length to this one. I'll either edit more into this one or post a new bit later. It's late now, enjoy.

Higgins licked his lips as he saw the white haired man step from the inn's door. His hands gripped the hilts of his short swords tightly enough to imprint the embossed designs into his eager hands. This was truly him. He was older, but there was no mistaking him. He was their old dark knight. The beast man noticed that he was staring and decided to look less conspicuous, if that were possible, by checking to make sure that his swords weren't latched into their sheathes.
Even before he looked up, Higgins was keenly aware that he was being watched. He allowed his eyes to drift up very slowly, noting early that he could see a man's boots and long pants within feet of himself. As his eyes inched their way up the height of the man in front of him, he took into account the fact that his watcher's sword was still in its scabbard. A small relief at best.
Kadmon's hand flashed forward faster than the smaller man could see. Before he knew what was happening, Higgins was several feet above ground. "So nice to see you again, old 'friend'. What brings you here?" Kadmon growled as he loodened his grip on the wolverine man's throat momentarily to allow him to answer.
"I'm stationed here, Dark Knight. I have a duty to be here." Higgins casually, or as casually as someone being held several feet off the ground by their neck can, responded. "The true question is - Why are you here? Why are y-" The former paladin squeezed tightly, he didn't want to hear any questions.
With hardly an effort, he cast the small warrior aside, then reached and cleared his sword in its sheath. He didn't even bother looking down at the pair of slashes in his white nightshirt, he knew exactly what had happened. "I take it you want to fight then?" Higgins nodded. "Very well, but I must warn you," Kadmon pointed his left hand to the window of his room, "My friend is sleeping right now. I fear that if we're too loud, she'll wake up and then we're both as good as dead. So, if I might suggest," The same hand moved in the direction of the square, "Out there, away from the inn. It will be more... what would the word be... epic I suppose." The white-haired man walked toward the square, followed soon after by his opponent. |
