You are correct, correct, and correct.
Humility is THE single most important attribute a person can have. The problem is that people who just want their way use religion as a vehicle for getting it.
For instance with Christianity someone can use certain verses to put others down and or get their way, when the bible also teaches to love your neighbor as yourself and to rely on God to provide for you.
At least thats how I see the problems with religion.
but I'm probably extremely biased since I was brought up in a Christian home. But I do find the amount of damage that religion does to be very sad, I've just come to the conclusion that those people are not really following hte bible.
