Re: Wolfie's Characters

Approved by Rainsaney.

(postcount +1)

Name: Taen (Tay-Ehn) Rashida

Age: 24

Race: Elf

Gender: Male

Hair: Long, blond hair. Straight and runs to the back of his neck resting just above his shoulders.

Eyes: Gold

Weight: 140 pounds (roughly)

Height: 5 feet and 7 inches

Weapon: Two twin Chinese-esque broadswords, used for summoning the Eight Elemental Dragons. The blades are long and curved at the end, with light inscriptions on the flats of the blades, with red and black cloths woven at the ends of the handles. Taen obtained this while fighting through a great maze/temple where he entered a spirit realm and first met the dragons. The dragon’s spirits are tied strongly to the blades, and are what allows Taen use of their powers. They are considered dual swords, two parts of one whole. The blades were a gift from the dragons, the two swords a symbol of the elves: one blade representing “truth,” and the other representing “heart.”

Armor: none

Magic: Taen has the ability to summon the powers of the eight spirit dragons of Auruden. Their magic spans over shadow and light magic to elemental magic as well. They each have teachings and philosophies that aid in battle and everyday life. It is all these things combined in one that will make Taen a strong person.

Taen can only summon one Dragon at a time, and takes a full day to recover before he gain fight again, one week before he can use magic, and one month before he can summon another one. When he summons them, great leathery dragon wings burst from his back and he is covered in a mystical light reminiscent of the Dragon he is summoning. Each Dragon has a special attack, and after they have used it immediately go back into Taen's sword.

All images from Ruth Thompson's Tarnished Images as well as Dragon's Forest.

Sirasha – Light
Teaches healing. To be able to connect with others and strengthen them.

Nasune – Shadow
Teaches perception. To see the truth and intentions, and even be able to influence other’s emotions.

Reshoc – Earth
Teaches stability and firmness. Not swaying easily to other’s opinions and the movements of battle.

Ryagiere – Fire
Teaches endurance and willpower. Having the energy and drive to achieve what is necessary.

Korale – Water
Teaches movement. Redirecting the enemy’s attack.

Kida – Ice
Teaches sharpness. Knowing exactly what to do and when to do it.

Elrada – Wind
Teaches freedom. Detaching yourself from cares and worries to see clearly.

Zeraph – Lightening
Teaches speed and reflex. Reacting quickly enough to land the blow, and to avoid the enemy.

Strengths: Taen is very swift and deadly with his blows when he fights. He doesn’t hold back and can block most attacks. He has a great resistance to pain and can fight through a broken wrist or sprained ankle, even when it weakens his fighting ability. He plans out his steps and thinks about possible outcomes before he strikes.

Taen uses his magic to the best of his ability. He considers the easiest way to hit his opponent and which form of magic would be most useful at the moment. He trusts and confides in the dragons and has a close bond with them.

Weakness: Taen is fast with attacks, but has poor reflexes. So, he can’t parry or dodge too well. He can also be knocked down pretty easily, allowing for the enemy to unleash a number of attacks. His physical strength is little so he can be overpowered easily by a well-built opponent.

Taen can sometimes lose focus in the heat of battle and zone out while trying to make plans. He focuses on his blades and magic, so he is very inexperienced in hand to hand combat.

Taen’s summoning is his greatest strength, and yet his greatest weakness. Magic takes energy, and he can easily exhaust himself in the middle of a fight by using it too much. If he is disarmed, he won’t be able to use his magic, as the swords must be on him, whether in a sheath on his back or in his hands.

Personality: Taen is a pretty easy-going guy. He’s real positive and makes jokes about things all the time. He sees fighting almost as a game. He’s very persistent in the heat of battle and doesn’t give up easily. He studies his foe to understand his or her strength and weaknesses. He never underestimates his enemy and will flee if needed.

Despite his humorous nature, Taen can be very serious. He doesn’t let anyone influence a choice he makes and will boldly do as he feels. His serious demeanor could be mistaken to rudeness or arrogance, which it sometimes is.

Taen is also very flirtatious. However, he is not a sex hound. He is very choosy of the women he pursues. You could say he is a romanticist. He prefers a strong, adventurous woman over a damsel in distress.

As for religion, Taen does not care for it. You can be the most dedicated church goer, or a hardcore atheist. Either way, he would not care. However, if a person forces their beliefs or if their religion causes someone to be persecuted, then that is when he protests. He is very open minded, but not towards bigotry or self-righteousness.

Appearance:

Picture 2
Taen has a medium build: Long body, toned muscles. His hair is very fine and soft, falling straight over his eyes like a veil. His eyes are a goldish color, deep and mystical, and his lips thin. His outfits normally consist of a dress shirt, blue jeans, and a blank t-shirt, normally black. He wears regular walking shoes, with him being a wanderer and having to travel on foot from place to place for the most part. He often carries a small bag across his back (with various medicines and foods) that accompanies the sheath holding his swords.

History: Thousands of years ago, humans and elves coexisted in the land of Auruden. The humans lived on the plains and grasslands while the elves inhabited he trees and mountains. There were ten clans of elves, the Rashida clan being one of them. The elves were deeply spiritual, having much knowledge of magic and the Dragons. Humans pursued knowledge in the fields of science. Everything was at peace.

As technology evolved, humans began to exhaust the land of its resources. Eventually, they began to destroy whole forests and pollute the air. Over the next few centuries, a plague afflicted the land. The earth refused to produce crops. Disease was widespread. The rain slowly diminished. A leader rose up from the church, promising to end the plague and bring out a new age of glory. He used the elves as a scapegoat, saying that they were of the devil and that they were the ones who cursed the land. With this, he brought about an air of hatred for the elves.

Half a century before Taen was born, the genocide of the elves began. The Church decreed that any elves living in Auruden be killed. This began after one of the clans went to the head of the Church, asking for them to stop destroying the land. The meeting turned violent when one of the human guards fired at the elves. The elves retaliated with magic, and the conflict evolved into a brawl. The Church declared this to be an official declaration of war by the elves, and sought out the ten clans.

*~*~*

Taen was born the nephew of the elven king and queen. He lived in the northwest mountains with the rest of the Rashida clan. They were one of the last clans of elves living in Auruden. The young elves had only heard stories of the horrors and atrocities committed by the Church. They were taught magic and swordplay, and learned of the history of the 10 clans. They lived in blissful ignorance, until the fateful day that an army of automatons invaded their homeland.

Fires raged across the landscape, bringing about what was assumed to be the end of the elves. Taen, 17 at the time, stayed to fight alongside the rest of the elves, but they were not strong enough against the human soldiers. He and the rest of the survivors fled to the forests in the south. They traveled for weeks, until Taen was separated from the group.

The young elf traveled alone through the dark forests, until he slipped and fell down a hole. In there, he found himself in a cave which crawled up into a great temple that had since been abandoned by time. He traveled through it and was deemed worthy by the guardians to enter the spirit realm. This was his first encounter with the Dragons, whom told Taen that he would have to free Auruden from the clutches of the Church and break the ties of hatred between the elves and the humans…

Taen rejected them at first, afraid of the responsibility that had been placed in front of him. They told him that he did not have to do it, and that they had not chosen him, but that he had chosen the Dragons. In the end, he accepted their powers and was granted the two broadswords: the bridge between the spirit world and the physical world. Taen was told he would have to leave the world of Auruden for the time being, and find knowledge from other worlds, which he later discovered was the work of the Dome, which connected a multitude of other universes. He traveled with the Dragons over the next seven years, becoming closely attached to them and gradually grateful and accepting of his duty of being a Dragon Summoner. They taught him many things about life and fighting. They respected and adored him, almost to the point where they were a PART of him. Taen also met many other heroes along his travels, including Zorlo, the Fencer of Tasogare, and the Grim Angel, Rain.

There were two people he met that became very important to him: Aemilia and Kariette. The first he met in a small town where a small flirt with her turned into a fight between them and a group of rival assassins sent to kill her. They managed to dispatch of them, but not before a sorcerer overtook Taen’s mind and forced him to attack Aemy. Aemilia saw through the sorcerer’s plot, and killed him cold. Taen woke up a few hours in the same bar he met her in, but noticed he was not able to speak with his Dragons. He did not tell Aemy about them, instead just telling her thanks and departing.

As soon as he left, Taen and Aemy were ambushed by a Mafia type group, whom kidnapped the elf and forced him to kill the king. That was when Taen met Kariette, offering her a job as his assistant in this mission. They infiltrated the castle through a Gala that was held that night, and went after a man that was really a decoy. After the brief altercation with the fake king, Taen and Kariette rushed from the castle with an army behind them. They managed to escape after Kariette unleashed massive magical attack, leaving over one hundred dead.

They took refuge in an old cathedral in the woods. They grew close, almost to a point that could be called love. Taen saw how doll-like Kariette was, and longed to heal her, to make her feel again. He became protective of her, and she became dependent on him. Taen learned that she was Aemilia’s sister, but did not tell Kari this, for the Dragons said it was best she found out on her own.

During their refuge, Taen and Kariette were ambushed by the Church. Taen was captured and Kariette went missing. He was imprisoned on charges of heresy. They cut away his connection to the ancient Dragons, whom they referred to as his "demons." He was locked up for a year and a half, until one night when a mysterious woman saved him. She incapacitated the guards and lead him out. He lost her in the rain, and when it cleared, she was no where to be found. Taen traveled for days until he stumbled upon an old temple. He was once again brought into the spirit realm, only this time he had to find his way to the Dragons' spirits on his own. When he did, he felt burdened with regret, feeling as if he abandoned them. The ancient Dragons however felt no condemnation, and he regained the ability to communicate with them as well as learning how to summon their physical forms.
