Re: Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Selene raced possibly faster than her heart, every muscle straining to its full potential, every thought racing to get to the throne room as soon as possible. Zorlo! Hold on! I'm coming! I'm coming! She felt that faint sense of dread she knew in the hole return, stronger. It wasn't for her own life? Selene had a sort of premonition about some things, and this was no exception. It was strong.
She began to remember pieces of Zorlo and her together, from when they first met to the marriage. She felt the surge of her loved one's magic, winced from the burning inside the bond their shared. Zorlo... he was in trouble. She knew it. She beat her wings faster. The feathers ached along with the muscles. It was only a blur of red visible to any below taking a chance to glance upwards as she whizzed by, skin tingling against the sting of the wind.
Zorlo... please. Wait for me. I'm coming. I'm coming. I promise.
Her eyes widened when she saw the blackness envelop the throne room. "No... Zorlo! Please!" Faster. She had to go faster. She could see it. She could see what she knew to be sparks, flashes, even surges of his power beyond her reach. No, she could reach it. She just had to be fast enough to reach him before... anything happened. "Zorlo... I'm coming! Hold on!" She was afraid.
