Re: Sun, Surf, and Demons (insaney)
And then, the sound of shattering glass filled his ears, followed by the ringing of an alarm. It was painful, but he had to concentrate. One person, smashing the pane of a window to a jewelry store and just grabbing up items and shoving them into his backpack—Not much planning went into that at all.
The robber quickly found himself being pulled backward by the collar. He dropped his loot when he suddenly slid backward, and then dropped his backpack when a pair of needles sank into the right side of his neck. The man faltered, his mouth open with a silent gasp.
He slumped down to the ground soon after, not dead, but in shock. He put his hand on his neck and wriggled away from his attacker; the one with the glowing golden eyes.
“Next time you do something like that,” his voice tore through the darkness as he wiped the blood away from his lips, “I’ll drink the rest, understand?”
The man nodded quickly, a small squeak coming from his mouth. Rain took up the backpack and the scattered jewels and threw them back into the store. His fingers picked up a simple necklace, inlaid with a few small rubies. It’s just pretty, he thought, and grinned for a second, “I’m sure they won’t miss this,” he turned around to look at the robber, “right?” But that man had ran and in the distance, sirens began to close in.
Rain didn’t hesitate to make himself scarce.
