Name: Rontu Azashi Nyzento (ron-TWO ah-ZAH-she n-EYE-zen-TOE)
Title(s): Sir Nyzento, Dread Fang of Lolth, the Black Fang
Nickname(s): Fil Aun (dark tooth) or Phae Aun (shadow tooth), Phae Shi (shadow cat)

Date of Birth: July 6th, 2009 AD
Age: 21
Zodiac Sign: Cancer

Species: Dark elf/Drow
Sex: Male

Hair: White
Eyes: Gold (Example)

Height: 6' 4" (193 cm)
Weight: 233 lbs (106 kg)

Appearance:
Head – His hair is long a few inches past his shoulders. It’s perfectly straight, as fine as silk, and snow white. Rontu keeps it back in a loose ponytail most of the time. Thus, his front locks always escape the confines of his hair tie and parted around his face down to his chin. He has a decent widow’s peak where his hair parts down the middle of. His face is long, somewhat narrow, and heart-shaped. He has a strong and lean jaw. The ridges of his brow are deeply set.

His eyes are the metallic color of gold and as sharp as a hawk’s. They never seem to be greatly exposed, nor does it seem possible for them to be very big or wide. His upper eyelids seem slightly heavy, which makes them more narrow than common. They match his normal expression of looking bored and uninterested, perhaps even kind of sleepy. His eyebrows are not too thick or bushy or with coarse hair. They're long, matching his narrowly shaped eyes, which they are close to, and matching the smoothness of his scalp hair.

All of his skin is a faded black. There’s a small gray scar through his right eyebrow. His nose looks as if it’s been broken a few times. His ears are pointed and lobes are attached. His lips are normally slack, because of his usual uninterested demeanor, mostly plain—nothing particularly attractive or ugly about them.

He is by no means an ugly man. Yet he is not extremely attractive either. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Rontu can be thought of handsome with comfortably masculine features, despite a few flaws of a beat-up nose and some small scars.
Body – Rontu is tall and broad-shouldered. He looks older than he is, closer to his mid twenties. The drow is wrapped in hard earned muscle. Not too huge and bulky, it compliments his tall structure and face. He’s almost beautifully proportioned, yet still completely masculine and powerful. His muscles are defined and chiseled due to the lack of body fat. He has been training physically for most of his life and has earned this body for it. He has scars scattered all over his body. It tells the story of his experience in battle. The most notable scars being the dozen of long and slender ones on his back, looking as if he’d been whipped at one point, and the twisted blotch of skin on his right (observer's left) shoulder.
Clothing – His clothing may change, though he tends to prefer black the most in his outfits. Rontu often uses his most worn black trench coat and any kind of undershirt and flexible pants with solid leather boots and cloth gloves.

Weapon:
Verta Sael – Is the name of Rontu’s sword (pic here). The words are from a long and forgotten language. They mean “farewell”. The sword's length is no more than 3' 9" (114 cm). The hilt is twelve inches (30 cm) long. The blade is 2' 9" (84 cm) long.

The steel was made by the Vehenmus earth dragons of Sekin. Metal that comes from those dragons is the best material one could ever wish to create a sword out of. Their craftsmanship is almost other worldly. Since Rontu has owned the sword it has never needed to be sharpened. It is capable of cutting swords of a lesser material like chopping wood or slicing butter. It is unaffected by normal fire and heat, only the fire of dragons similar to the dragons of Sekin can be used to bend and shape the blade. However, it was made by the Vehenmus earth dragons, thus the blade is embedded with dark energies. It is a Vehenmus weapon, excellent against Otius (good/positive) creatures such as high elves. This is also due to the sword's history. It has belonged to many violent and corrupt persons and did many dark and heinous deeds before it came into Rontu’s possession.
Armor: N/A

Skills/Magic:
  • In his normal state Rontu has only one, but when his emotions overwhelm him he can control water. This ability is still unknown to him; therefore, its limits are just as well unknown.

  • Skilled in sword/knife fighting, grappling (or otherwise known as martial arts of some kind), assassination, stealth, and crossbows.

  • Rontu's sword style is rather interesting. His main advantage is range and reach, because he has long arms and a long sword. Thus he does his best at keeping his enemies away from him and at mid-range combat. His style is often misleading as well. It's a very fluid style that seems to be constantly in flow and motion. It goes with the momentum and weight of his lengthy weapon. It's misleading because others often see it as slow. Due to the length of his weapon and the sudden speed-up due to going with the fall of his hefty katana, others are often struck before they realize what had happened. He reaches them with his blade much sooner than most would realize. Also because of the momentum, Rontu can keep swinging for much longer than others think. They often think they see an opening where they believe his combination should end and rush it. However, it doesn't end, and they are struck with the length and sudden speed-up again. This is also combined with openings Rontu leaves to draw his enemies in. This is where he'll insert sudden short-ranged attacks with his fists, knees, foot, and sometimes even his head.
Infrared-vision – When in the dark, Rontu can change his vision to detect the body heat of creatures. He can see anything that emits heat. It can be used in the light as well, for it is simply a change of sight. All dark elves have this ability.

Strengths:
  • His sword style comes mostly from his mother, who had been one of the highest ranking assassins of the Drow Empire. Though, he has adapted it to fit a man of his strength and swiftness, for he is not quite as fast or agile has Karei Nyzento had been. It is a strong sword style, almost completely unrivaled by the highest assassins of the empire he had once served. His sword and experience makes up for the speed he may lack against faster enemies. Sheinron Beonzeluxae took up where his mother left off in his training. It was he who taught Rontu how to adapt his mother’s fighting style, because of that it does reflect some of Sheinron’s. His style is a mix between both warriors, who were famous for being the best of the entire imperial army. He is experienced for one still so young, since he had been street fighting since he was 14-years-old and his first training had begun even before then. Though, there are bound to be older and more experienced warriors than he.

  • He's just as good with his sword as he is with his body. He does not need a weapon to cause damage or simple pain. So if disarmed, he still fairs very well and is able to carry on, even defeat his enemy, until he is able to collect his weapon again.

  • Dark elf males are known for their strength. Rontu has the body for it. Strength is his best attribute in a battle. He could kill several people with the power in his muscles alone without a weapon by strangling, beating them, striking critical areas with immense pressure.

  • Rontu is fast, for all assassins have been taught to be as quick as they are silent. His speed is surprising for a man of his height and muscle, but he knows well how to move swiftly and with accuracy. Of course, there are others faster than him. He is a large man after all. He will never have the agility that other smaller and lighter weight people will have. He’s incredibly fast for a man of his height and weight.

  • He can move silently when he wishes, and most do not hear him unless he wants them to. He’s good at blending in with his background in the more rough and violent cities he might travel through. He fades perfectly into dark and gloomy settings. The dark elf knows how to disappear into these kinds of settings, since they are similar to his home city where he learned such techniques. This is how Rontu may quietly stock his prey. They will not notice him following him until he wants them to, and by then it may be too late.

Of course, this relates to average warriors/people. If the person he’s stalking has heightened senses more than the average person, he will have more trouble staying unnoticed. This relates to the five senses, a sixth sense might be able to determine that he is following them, depending on what his intention is and what kind of sixth sense it may be. He will not always be stalking people to do them harm. Even with heightened fives senses, they may not notice Rontu because as said before, he blends in to these backgrounds, and knows how to look bland and inconspicuous. It takes a sharp mind for one to realize him for what he really is doing.

  • Due to his long elven ears, he has sharp hearing. His hearing is very advanced compared to normal beings, such as humans. He can focus on certain sounds, pick up strange and usually unnoticeable noises, and then fade out of focus as to not damage his ears should there be a sudden din. This makes it nearly impossible for others to sneak up on him.

  • He has very sharp eyes as well; because he has infrared vision the dark does not hinder his ability to fight at all. Even orbs of darkness, a spell often cast by other dark elves that blacks out both light and body heat, is ineffective toward him. He was trained to fight in darkness and shadows. He does not need his eyes to fight accurately; he can hear and sense where his enemy is and their attacks. He is still deadly without his eyes. They are also very observant; he is good at picking up small details and adding them to his memory for later reference. He has very excellent aim with crossbows, which he has some experience in using. The use of his eyes during battle makes him even deadlier.

  • Rontu is accustomed to pain. It was part of his training as Scarlet soldier. In way, he has learned to block out most of it from his mind. It's not really something he does consciously. It was quite literally beaten into him by his mentor. One wouldn't say he's a master or even talented in this area. But he is certainly more experienced than most without any previous training.

  • He has built an impressive resistance to many poisons and drugs. During his training with the Emperor Sheinron, he had been poisoned and drugged by his mentor many times in attempt to build his resistance to it. Very powerful poisons and drugs can still have an affect on Rontu. It may simply be more mild than it is for others, but certainly still able to kill him if he does not seek treatment within certain amount of time frames. Rontu just has a tendency to last much longer than others would, giving him better chances of survival.

  • All dark elves have a little more immunity to black/dark/negative magic/energy/chi than other elves. It can still hurt them, but it takes the sharpest edge off the affects. For Rontu, a beginner’s dark magic attack might make him a little dizzy for a moment, but he’d brush it off after a few seconds and continue. Stronger more experienced dark magic is bound to have its initial affect on him, but the nasty part of it will be more dulled than it is for others.

Weaknesses:
  • Rontu doesn’t know any magic consciously. So he does not have a way to counter it should he become a target of sorcery in battle. The best thing he can do is try to be faster than the magic being fired at him. Should he be struck, he is at the mercy of the magic user and their power.

  • He is not quite as flexible or agile as others can be. There are plenty of others who can be faster and more graceful than he. As stated previously, he will never be able to be as or more agile or fast as those who are of lighter weight and size. So he can be at a disadvantage when battling those types of warriors.

  • Cheerful and bright settings off set his ability to blend in with his backgrounds. He has dark features and a dark presence. Light surroundings make him stick out like a sore thumb. So he will lack the element of surprise most times in these kinds of settings. He is more likely to be noticed for what he really is: stalking. One does not even need heightened sense of any sort to notice Rontu in these kinds of settings. He will be painfully obvious to everyone.

  • Though his sharp hearing is a strength, it is also a weakness. If a very loud noise were to occur while Rontu is listening so intently, honing his ears, it will hurt his sensitive ears, causing him to become disarmed and stunned for a rather long time. This pain is different from physical cuts and blows. Rontu cannot block out this kind of pain. It could even damage his ears permanently.

  • Very experienced sword masters and experts, combined with a cautious and observant mind-set, may be able to spot vulnerabilities in Rontu's fluid sword style. Though he is very advanced for his age and experience, he is still young and simply has not lived as long as others might have. Thus, the older and more experienced and very talented would be able to challenge Rontu in ways most of others are not.

  • His emotions of pain and self-loathing produced by memories of the past distract him. If he is encountered by a situation that triggers these memories, his concentration is greatly affected (speed and accuracy suffer). Sometimes, he may have been brooding before hand about an emotionally troubling matter. At times, it can also be triggered by being in the presence of certain people from his past.

  • All dark elves are a little more prone to holy/light/pure/positive magic/energy/chi than other elves. It won’t do as much damage to, say, a demon or other very dark creatures, but they’re just sensitive to it, like an allergy. For Rontu, a beginner’s light magic attack might give him a sharper kick or bite than it would for a neutral creature. It would take him a few moments to recover, and even after he’d still feel a bit out of it for the rest of the day. Stronger more experienced light magic is going to have a nastier affect. It’s sharper and leaves a stinging ach lasting for days even weeks, depending on how strong it was. If strong enough, it could kill Rontu where others would have been mortally wounded but able to recover, like an allergy when they’re already close to death.

Personality: To strangers, Rontu appears dark and foreboding. Yet not in such an obvious way that it’s melodramatic or fake. It’s natural and honest is most aspects. It seems Rontu exudes an unfriendly aura. He’s reserved and cold to strangers. It’s not hateful in tone. His eyes simply appear detached and chilling, bored and uncaring. If he’s feeling particularly annoyed, his demeanor will gain an air of disdain and calm attitude. Rontu is a difficult man to get close to, especially due to his reserved exterior. It’s not easy to strike up conversation. Shy and timid persons are almost always too intimidated to even try.

He tends to put up an automatic wall between himself and others. Rontu has few friends and even fewer close friends. He is accustomed to solitude. Thus, he avoids crowds and social events, with the exception of pleasing his current friends. It is difficult to relate to others around him because of his complicated past. Rontu has always felt alienated, even back when he worked for the Drow Empire. But his social awkwardness does not make him afraid to speak or converse with others. It’s simply that he’s a quiet person and lacks the desire to speak.

Deep waters run under his hardened cold shell of an expression. He is much more sensitive than others would ever believe or he would admit to. Rontu never lets it show in front of other people with very few exceptions, such as Leita Serwen. Only she sees the very loving and caring part of his personality. Rontu lets down his guard when he is alone with her. He cares more than any would guess he would due to the detachment of his exterior. He cares for the safety of innocents, the weak and vulnerable, such as children. The screams of the young in utter pain and agony trouble him deeply. He is more traumatized and damaged by his past than he would ever say or think too deeply about. Yet deep down, he knows it. He’s been having nightmares, flashbacks from what could be forgotten traumatic memories. He’s truly afraid of what they mean; so far he has been trying to dismiss them as just strange dreams—nothing important. The scar of his right shoulder starts to hurt, phantom pains often keep him up at night after waking from the terrifying dreams.

There is a certain kind of guilt, shame, and sense of taint to one who has killed and has killed many. It infects them with a sense of worthlessness and disgust, self-loathing that makes it difficult to justify their next breath to themselves. Rontu has been thoroughly corrupted with this disease. He often finds it hard to accept happiness and good fortune into his life, because he feels undeserving of it. He is recovering slowly, Leita being one of his first steps toward a normal and healthy life. He has allowed her into his life, thus allowing her love and his happiness.

There are things that keep him from letting others in. Rontu has simply seen too much of deception, blood, cruelty, and betrayal. He’s seen too many horrible, hideous, and heinous acts; some were done to him and the rest to others around him. He’s jaded in a way that will never be rational. It’s a deep imprint left upon him from his life in Delusuu, the wars he has seen, and the people he has lost. He’s paranoid, constantly cautious and suspicious of others.

His eyes are one of his most noticeable features. They stand out, being a vibrant gold. His eyes have a piercing and observant quality. Though narrow, they appear very aware of his surroundings and the people around him. It’s an alert demeanor. His eyes are almost that of a wild animal’s, alert and cautious at all times in any habitat. They also have the look of a predator. They’re very hawk or wolf-like in that aspect. Always watching, looking for enemies that may jump out at any corner. Rontu is good at noting details that others overlook and committing them to memory for, perhaps, later use. This can make him a wise warrior, for he takes them in within an instant. Noting a detail may aid him in defeating an enemy later in battle. It is a skill that has many uses.

Not only are his eyes observant, they are good at intimidation. Rontu makes use of this very often. Should he find something to his distaste, he is very good at conveying his annoyance or anger through his piercing gaze. He can turn almost any gaze of his into a piercing one that stabs right through the soul. He mostly uses them as a non-physical attack on others. It’s very rare that he should display an intense look of something other than annoyance, dislike, hate, or indifferent observation. However, he is capable of it, though he does it without thinking, for why it is a rarity is because he holds back from showing anything else.

He is an intelligent man and clever fighter. Yet it’s mixed with a street fighter’s attitude. Rontu, may, though rarely and only for his close companions, offer an open ear and perhaps the best advice he is capable of, without sounding too sentimental, of course. It may come as shocking, Rontu is wiser and much more mature than most his age. Though, it seems he is wiser outside of the situation than in it. He is able to come up with reasonable solutions and advice for them, and yet lacks that wisdom with his own troubles. This is because his emotions tend to blind him from good reason. His troubled thoughts and emotions can distract him from his usual observant ways and ability to be an alert warrior. Rontu tries to be strong in stressful situations. Though, the stress does get to him and makes him very agitated and easily annoyed. He is quick to snap in these times and situations, though, this mostly evident over periods of stress building up over a certain amount of time.

When Rontu gets really angry, seriously and deeply angered, he doesn’t really look it. His eyes go even colder and more detached. His body goes loose because it is nearing a violent act. Another thing strange about him is how his body becomes relaxed just before he is about to strike. This catches many off guard, expecting the opposite. However, those who know Rontu may know this sign of his. In his anger he becomes emotionless and merciless. This is where one is able to view his even darker side. He may have sadistic urges when fighting a hated enemy, to batter and hurt them as much as possible before killing them. Yet he is never truly arrogant. If he behaves this way, it is to mislead others. Arrogance, in Rontu’s opinion, suggests weakness. He likes to mislead his possible enemies into believing he is overly-confident and stupid. But once serious and in the heat of battle, he becomes blank, silent, fluid, and utterly lethal.

Rontu is not ashamed to use running and retreat as a survival tactic. In fact, he is not ashamed to use most crude and deceitful tricks to remain alive. It was simply part of his training when he was an assassin for the empire. It is built into the way he fights.

Whenever Rontu is emotionally/mentally overwhelmed he has a tendency to go numb and apathetic. It’s an old pattern. It is the way he has learned to cope with difficult and intense feelings. Thoughts and feelings that could drive him mad if he is not careful. He’s also a recovering alcoholic. Drinking used to be his way of drowning his own emotions. Even now it seems he has lost the ability to cry. He has not shed a tear since the age of fourteen. Rontu feels that this is because he has broken something inside himself that he can’t seem to repair.

It’s not like Rontu cannot be happy. It’s just that he has had so little happiness in his life that it is something he is not accustomed to. He never appears enthusiastically excited or pleased. When he is happy and content, Rontu has a more serene and placid appearance to his indifferent expressions. The disdain leaves and in its place he gives off a presence of well-being. Even though he may not have a particular expression, he is happy. Rontu smiles rarely (smirks are not sincere smiles), and when he does it usually only affect one side of his lips, creating a half-smile, which can actually be quite charming. His strong, piercing eyes reflect this quiet happiness as well.

He likes environments that are very green and alive. The sound of water, rivers, lakes, and rain soothes his spirit. He likes the still silence of snow and winter, how very fragile that icy kind of world can be. He likes animals, particularly horses. He has a dislike for mirrors. In all he likes aesthetically pleasing natural environments. He loves nature. He likes the smell of rain and lavender, a scent he associates with Leita.

His sex drive is very closely tied with his intimate relationship. He does not lust after a woman he does not love. He cannot really. Casual sex does not appeal to him. Rontu desires the closeness and the profound feeling of love that can be found between him and the person he loves in sex. It is not the physical pleasure alone that drives him. The physical pleasure alone leaves him feeling empty and lonely. He makes love because he is in love with the person, he does not love the person because he wants to make love to them. This is the most beautiful and pure aspect of Rontu, the ways in which he loves another. It is probably the only untainted part of him. Once he lets himself, that is.

He is so unwilling to allow himself closeness and love of some form with others because once he does, he is attached. There will always be a certain amount of mercy when it comes to these people, even his father and Tilly, who have betrayed and hurt him. Though he hates and curses them for the pain they have caused him, he still remembers the parts of them that he loved. He will never be able to kill these people.

Rontu Nyzento is a former assassin. A drow from the deserts of Delusuu. On the surface, he is a cold, arrogant, and moody man. He does not speak to strangers more than he has to. He does so with a very cold indifference and air of disdain. His temper is nearly sinful and at times out of control. He often shows a cold sadistic nature toward enemies. However, in a whole, he is a “good” person. He cares about people and dislikes seeing the vulnerable become even more wounded. He is brave, intelligent, and unexpectedly kind. He desires to protect his friends and beloved. Rontu Azashi Nyzento is never exactly as he seems to be.
