If you consider Madworld to be dark, you must have played really few games with blood in them.

Metroid is nowhere near dark...same could be said for Zelda. Mother has some dark parts, but Fire Emblem has incestuous rape, discrimination and what not.

The Conduit promises to be nowhere as dark as most other shooters, but we'll see...
